I wasted too much time playing this
idk
Slows down dramatically at the end with no new mechanics
Game is broken such that powering off your screen and turning it back on later results in a permanent blank screen in the game you have to kill it and restart. Playfab cloud save integration is totally broken.
This review is more of a yes, but... The first half of this game is really fun, love the bright colors and the ramp up feels good. It's a little bit spread out all over the place until you get automation locked down, but by the time you do, you're almost done with that part of the game. The second half of the game is completely different but very contained, as opposed to checking in on 50 different little upgrade buttons everything is on one or two screens. However, it's very confusing. Somehow even more confusing than the spread-out first half. The upgrades are worded in such a way that it never really feels quite clear what they do, and shifting the focus mid-game after such a strong start was pretty jarring, especially considering that unlocking the second half locked me out of the first half. I'd play the first half of this game again. Maybe the second half (MegaLands) after some polish.
TLDR: Simple design. Interesting concept. Some lacking depth. Good way to burn a few days time, but not much more than that. Play for a week or so and drop. This game has some simple and easy to understand concepts. Very easy to progress, albeit it can feel very tedious especially in the beginning with resets being very slow, and no automation yet unlocked. Visually can be fun to watch the rainbow(so to speak). Once you reach the surprise portion of the game, you feel a soft reset that will take you by the horn and slam yo into the ground running. But you will quickly recover, and begin again. This time with totally different, but new challenges to navigate. Unfortunately, this is the portion that left me the most salty. There is no clear endpoint, and it becomes a never-ending time waster, with little to no real progress. Upgrades at this point still exist(although few, basically infinite ones with massively increasing cost), however take days to reach each one. Without any real gain noticed. I think this needs a simple QOL update to add more speed at this stage, giving meaning to continuing on further. As it either takes far to long to make doing something fun, or engaging for someone to play. I would suggest giving it a go for a week or so, but once it takes you hours of idle time to even get progress toward an upgrade, it should be dropped until refined further for a clear endpoint or progression milestone.
Really enjoyable incremental game. Unlike what a lot of the reviews are saying, there are a lot of upgrades and the game is definitely not entirely automated. The fact you can set the speed of the game at the start is also a really nice QOL for people who prefer more active or idle gameplay.
