Follow my Curator Page for more Strategy Games!

Command & Control 3 is a real-time strategy game without base building. Unlike in other games of the genre, you don't need to build a base, collect resources and build new soldiers. It's a lot less complicated in C&C3.
Units
You will have different slots for either troops or fire support. If you select a slot, you can add soldiers or tanks for up to 80 points (e.g. Assault soldiers cost ten points, so you can add eight of them, etc.). You can then select the squad and call them on the battlefield. In total, you can have seven slots. If units die, they will come back after some time (a cooldown will tell you when exactly) Fire support is infinite but on a cooldown after using it.
Managing your troops
You can only control the whole squad at once. If you have a troop consisting of three soldiers and one vehicle, you will control all of them at once. This way, micromanagement isn't really possible or needed.
Campaign
The first few missions of the campaign work as a tutorial. They will explain everything nice and slow and you'll unlock more units in later missions. There is a story surrounding everything but for me personally, it was uninteresting. Missions consist mostly of "capture point A, B, C, etc.". Aside from that, there's a mission, where you can't control units at all and the AI will do all that stuff but you need to control fire support. This was a nice break from the usual stuff and very fun to do. In later missions, AI-based units will support you in capturing points.
Content
At the moment, there are six types of fire support, seven types of units, and one campaign with twelve missions. You can also play skirmish against bots and change a handful of settings, such as how many teams, squads, time limit, etc.
Technical issues
The game is in early access, so you will run into some issues. Loading times are pretty long even for an RTS. A handful of times the program didn't respond and I needed to end it via Task Manager.
Good or Bad?
C&C3 is a lot less complicated since you don't need to take care of resources, base management, or training new units. You also don't need to micro-manage dozens of units, since you can't control more than seven. This may be good for some people and sucks for others. I can see what the developers wanted to achieve and I very much like the approach actually. The missions I played were fun although it's a bit too slow for me. I would like to see a few more options in battles because.. it gets stale and repetitive quickly.
Conclusion
Command & Control 3 is for people who want a relaxed real-time strategy experience. It's fun for a while but gets repetitive and stale quickly. It could use some more mechanics to make it a bit more tactical. Aside from all that, there is definitely not enough content to justify a price tag this high right now. At the moment, I can't recommend C&C3. If you're looking for a relaxed RTS game, put it on your wishlist and wait for a sale, come back in a few months and see how it's going, or take a look at the 8-Bit games. **BUYER BEWARE** No updates since June 7, 2021... Save your money, it's dead.\ [UPDATE 1/24/2022]: Still no updates/patching ect, game is deader than a door nail.
PROS: + nice concept + easy to learn, hard to master + units + offmap support + team change during the game, so you can react quickly + sounds + fair price CONS: - infantry squads die too fast - pathfinding for vehicles - tragedy, they are turning 100x during a few seconds - unbalanced, for example cruiser missile have not enough dmg and big reload time - undestructable buldings - only a few units - only 2 factions - both factions have same units Should be developed: * PvE * PvP * some units should have map limit, on some maps its only tanks spam * workshop CONCLUSION: 8/10 - simple RTS with good skirmish for fair price.
So I wanted a game that could scratch that "command & conquer" itch but offered something different from the Command & Conquer Setting. I came across this game and figured i'd give it a try. Here's what i have to say about it: 1.What is this game? this game is NOT your normal RTS where you micro manage your units and give them specific orders and maneuvers to navigate and dominate the battlefield. instead this game is much more simplified, simply give your units a "goal" order and they will carry it out to the best of their abilities. So instead of being a "Commander" you're more of a "General" sending his troops out and moving them around the battlefield to adapt to the tide of battle. 2.What's the Goal? The game is split between 2 game modes; Assault and Conquest. There are 2 factions; Nato and Opfor (i forget their actual name so i'm just going to call them Opfor for now.) There's a campaign mode where you play through various scenaries but ultimately it boils down to taking and holding objectives until the other side runs out of reinforcements. 3.What's the gameplay like? unlike most RTS games out there this isn't a "Base Building" game. Oddly enough it's not like others where you have to "Pre-deploy" units on the field and work only with what you have. The best way i can describe it is, the game gives you "cards" which act as your squads. Each card holds 80 points. Each unit costs points and you and put units in your cards to make a squad. You can put as many units as you want so long as you don't exceed 80 points. The units you have available are infantrymen of varying variety and cost (Assault Troopers, Machine Gunners, Snipers, and Grenadiers) and Ground vehicles (at the moment they only have Bradley IFVs and M1A1 Abrams Tanks for NATO and BMPs and T-72s for Opfor). you also have off map support that you can call in (Mortar strikes, Howitzer strikes, MLRS strikes, Attach Helicopters, Anti-tank Air Strikes and Cruise Missiles.) You can have up to a maximum of 8 infantrymen per card, and 1 vehicle or off map fire support per card and a maximum of 7 cards. to create a squad simply click on an empty card, select your units and hit "apply" and they will deploy on the field shortly afterwards waiting for orders. From here it's standard RTS controls; select units with the left mouse button, move them around with the right click button. At any time you can recall the unit or squad and change the contents of the card and redeploy your new set up on the field. Earlier i said that you don't micromanage your units, more so give them "goals". that's pretty much what you're doing when right clicking to move them, you're giving them a "Move and defend" order in one click. unlike most RTS games out there you can't directly click on an enemy unit to attack, instead you have to literally trust in your units to handle the threat their way, the best they can. When giving them a "Goal" to move to you can hold the right mouse button and drag the cursor to create a "zone" for their goal. This is great when selecting multiple units and giving them a zone instead of a pinpoint location so that they can spread out and not bundle up together and get taken out by an air strike or something. Like in most RTS games infantry are very squishy where as armored vehicles are the backbone of your frontline. Thankfully giving infantry a move order on a building will move the infantrymen into said building so that they have a slight defensive bonus against other infantry. You also might want to experiment with different infantry types as having a variety of infantry in a squad may seem like a great idea, making them more versatile on the field, keep in mind that most infantry like Machine Gunners will move slower than other infantry in your squad and will be left behind by Assault Troopers. And while Tanks have Anti-infantry Capabilities to defend themselves, IFVs are more more up to the task of taking out enemy infantry. As you capture and hold objective points you'll begin to establish what look like "Reinforcement Routes" where each point is linked by a line on your minimap. this is to show where troops can be "redeployed" when squads get too wounded or suffer from too many KIAs. at any point you can "redeploy" a wounded or dwindling squad. this will remove them from play for a short period of time to replenish their health or loses before deploying them back to the front line, rather than let them die completely and have them deploy all the way back to your deployment zone. keep in mind that this cannot be spammed if you've been overrun by enemies as your redeployed squad might end up spawning back in on the frontline only to have a firing squad waiting for them. In these instances i'm reminded of the saying "sometimes you gotta know when to hold em, and when to fold em." -Final thoughts Overall, not a bad game. I like the atmosphere, i like the gameplay, the sound design is quite impressive and the the game does a great job maintaining a strategic play style while also simplifying it so that others can get the hang of it. and while i'm not big on PVP i would be lying is i said i wasn't curious to see how this game would hold up in a multiplayer environment. It could actually give most RTS games a run for their money. I would definitely recommend this game to RTS fans looking for a comfortable change of pace.
The game simplifies the traditional RTS genre into troop and fire support (ability) deployments. There's no need for base deployment, resource gathering, research, anything like that. You just have the ability to call in fire support and to bring in units. It isn't very micro intensive, especially since units aren't very responsive and will get bogged down in fights even if you do want them to disengage. You gradually unlock more unit and firesupport types as you play the campaign, and the map area gets bigger with more points to capture and ground to cover. The map expansion doesn't do much for the game play other than to turn it into a slog, unfortunately. For your units, you have either infantry or armored vehicles to choose from. The vehicles are the fastest, with no speed difference between a tank, IFV, or humvee. Infantry are a little bit more complex, with mild variations in speed. Unfortunately, since everything is so far away and since there's a 30 second cooldown once your units are destroyed or need to be reinforced, games can take up to 30-50 minutes depending on skill level. There's just nothing to do when your troops are moving to a point or are on cooldown, which makes the majority of the later campaign levels boring. TLDR: Once novelty wears off, game becomes a chore and a bore to play.
This top down counterterror game is a fun one. Definitely more of a beer and pretzels strategy game, easy to learn and hard to master. You choose between either NATO forces or Russian Forces and attempt to combat an insurgency in a fictional land. Can see the tower defense background as well, worth the price and here's hoping mod tools can be added eventually. Also to those saying "The dev doesnt update anything" Multiplayer and new Campaign content have just been added. Light strategy gaming fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3FNfzaNR_c
Save the money and do not buy this mobile phone game.
The game concept is really cool, even with a simplistic look, the sound design is engaging, the slowness of the units and the progress is pretty boring, the fact that you point to locations and you can't have a precise idea of positioning like in company-style games of heroes leaves a little to be desired, the units also don't have bonuses for the type of physical training, I believe that only for the type that it is ie if it's just a grenadier or if this or that... the concept of as if it were a general commander it was really cool...so far I missed aircraft like the black hawk doing circular flights protecting areas with the machine gun...the buildings don't have physics and also don't give the immersion of soldiers ambushing or taking cover efficiently. It's a visually simplistic game, but conceptually promising, the value asked by the producer is almost a buy order that we can maybe produce more cool stuff, so buy to support future ideas and more cool stuff to come! Until then the strategy itself is very simplistic and becomes a game to pass the time and not to devote itself in large learning curves like CIVILIZATION or even games like RUSE, STEEL DIVISION or even MEN OF WAR. A good game, but nothing too extraordinary, but with promising future possibilities, I hope the developer invests in good updates!
