Great game, timeless

I could NOT believe it when I saw this was FINALLY released on Steam. So many of us die hard fans have been begging EA to bring it back for well over 10 years. Was an instant BUY for me! Anyway the story, characters and aesthetics have nothing to do with the C&C of old so don't go in thinking you will get any cool FMVs, familiar faces or GDI and NoD. However It is on it's own merits a fantastic game. Easy to get into and fun to build your defenses. While the graphics may look dated now (was released in 2003) the ragdoll animations never fail to make me chuckle and the use of 3d terrain to gain advantage makes battles feel that much more satisfying. Each of the 3 factions have their pros and cons although I am hard pressed to find any cons with the Chinese. Although it's a different game to the old C&C the format is the same: build, upgrade, defend, stockpile, zerg, steal, send in bombers, nuke the enemy etc. Considering this pack includes SOO many of the original games and sequels too this price is a SUPERB bargain!

I didnt enjoy the game. Single player campaigns are bare bones. Some missions are with very bad design. Some units are way too overpowered. Especially air units, which the computer rarely builds if at all.

Glad that CNC GENERALS can now be purchased digitally on STEAM with updates in which this is the preferred way to play it since installing it from the CNC GENERALS CDs that I bought before requires me to download FIXES before I could play it.
