It's an idle tower defense game that's free. Don't expect it to be the most amazing thing in existence. Jokes aside, it's good for passing a few minutes every here-and-there while you're doing other stuff (just like any other idle game in existence). Neat factor: You can buy buffs that work for everyone, not just yourself. Just.... wait a little while before you do it. Look to see if others are playing it atm before you just drop $5 or something. They have a discord that's pretty easy to get to as it's linked directly in their game. At the time of this, there isn't any instructions so here's a few pointers from me to you, reader: 1) The tower defense will not start until you build either: A - your fist tower, or B - your first trap. Anything that can kill a foo. 2) There are farms that get you gems, and there are 4 colors of gems: Red, Purple, Green, & Blue. Each allowing you to buy a respective buff for yourself. - Red: Double damage. - Purple: Double gold gained. - Green: Constant dps to all enemies on screen. - Blue: Constant slow to all enemies on screen. + These are also used for crafting stuff (This comes later, like, way later), and a pet that will do things (haven't gotten it yet, so I'm not sure what it does yet). 3) Holding right-click on your towers, traps, or farms will show a yellow circle forming on it: That's how you sell stuff. The game doesn't exactly tell you how you can do this... 4) There's a skill tree with.... Not a whole lot to be perfectly honest... You can get feed critical (whatever the heck that means), bonus gold, bonus xp, make your mouse attack enemies, unlock pet slots (up to two for now), and upgrade the pet(s) from there. 5) Finally, on every slot that a trap can spawn, there are random spawns that will occasionally occur: - Bomb: Left click to kill all "NORMAL" enemies - Right click to diffuse it. - Blue Square: Slows enemies for 10 seconds (Time is stack-able, so clicked more than 1 will give 20, 30, 40... seconds). - Green Square: Deals 60DPS to enemies for 10 seconds (Time stacks just the same as blue). - Yellow Square: +100g. - [Color] Gem: +1 to one of the Corresponding color or +1 of each color gem (You should be able to figure it out real quick). + These cannot spawn where a trap has been placed, so choose weather you cover the entire path by spikes or not, or do 50/50... or whatever layout you want! Really you don't lose much when you get rid of them at the point I'm at. With that, if you decide to pick this up, I wish you luck random reader!

Color Defense is a great addition to the idle, tower defense genre. Once you place down your first tower you'll start the wave based game-play until you restart. You can place down x3 different types of towers (regular towers, shield breaker and magic breaker) that all have their own stats and what they do and how they damage each type of orb. You can all so set up traps on the ground that do the same as towers but they are on the path where the orbs are. You'll want to set up some gem mines (you can get RG, PG, GG and BG), they will get you the x4 different types of gems to use in upgrading your pets (Teir 1 pets can go up to level 10 and they can attack the orbs), craft stones and can be used with buffs (more DMG, GOLD, POISON and SLOW). You can use ENRAGE and POWER mode (1-15) to give yourself more of a challenge on each map by giving orbs more %lifepoints per level, more orbs and the speed at which they move. You can get power-ups as they are given randomly on the path (can see the buff panel to the right side). You can get skill points to use in the skills tree the farther you get to get some skill like extra XP, more gold on enemy death, idle pet movement/upgrade speed, etc. You can get primes by playing to give yourself some upgrades to towers, traps, gem mines and the home at the end of the path (more shields, health, gold chance, etc). Once you are done with a run and restart you'll be given some EVOs to upgrade even more (gold, less enemy health, enemy speed, tower damage, etc). If you are interested in Steam inventory items this game has items you can get by game hours and DLC purchase. The game might have potential, but there is no tutorial. A lot of tool tips are missing as well. Its really hard to understand exactly what is going on or what you should be doing. From what I understand there is no offline progression either, and the game runs kind of slow too. I can't really recommend it at this point, especially because they have time to pump out DLC asking for money, but not time to make it an enjoyable playable experience with the basic needs of a game.

In a word: Bland --------------------- The towers all look the same just different colors. The enemies all look the same just different colors. The special effects all look the same just different colors. If you don't care about the visuals, great! Let's talk about how bland everything else is. Take a really good look at the screenshots, because that's basically the entire game. Can you read the tower descriptions and make any sense of them? Green shoots purple to do better against red while shielding the yellow from the orange that does red to the color of..... it's endless rambling of obnoxious meaningless nonsense. You can force yourself to understand this convoluted bland mess but I don't see any reason to bother. It's also incredibly slow and poorly balanced. And fair warning: Take a look in the forums at how many threads are locked by moderators (about 99% of them). There's other words I want to use to describe this game and the developer behind it, but that would get this review deleted and banned. I'll just stop here and wonder why anyone would pay for the DLC for this bland catastrophe.

It's a free idle tower defense game. It's well put together and kind of fun.
