About
Colony 28 is an original Czech arcade-adventure from 1996. It is the very first game developed by Karel Matějka (Ko.dll), the author of the phenomenal BZZZT. Please keep in mind that this is not "retro"—it is a truly old game. Not to mention, it is only available in the Czech language.
The year is 2028. Earth is in ruins, and the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in the harsh environments of space colonies. After an alien invasion, humankind was transformed into a working android army dedicated to draining the planet's resources. You wake up inside the chassis of a combat droid on Colony 28 (Earth), but your mind remains human. You are the final hope for the resistance against a tyrannical reign of machines and corporations.
Colony 28 is a classic 2D action platformer known for its gripping atmosphere and challenging gameplay. Experience the journey of a soul trapped in steel, fighting to reclaim a future for mankind.

I had the chance to play a demo of this game back in the day and even though it absolutely kicked my butt at times, I had a blast with it. It’s one of those experiences that sticks with you because of its distinct visual style and that unforgettable yellow robot protagonist. Coming back to it now, I’m honestly blown away by how polished it is. I never fully appreciated just how much production value, technical craftsmanship and engineering effort went into it, especially considering it was one of the earliest Czech games. The attention to detail, the smooth systems and the overall presentation really stand out. I’m looking forward to finally completing it this time.
who ever played Black Thorne shouldn't miss this one! I finished it once over 25 years ago, then few years back again on steam deck, and now it's officially out again!
"nyní optimalizovaná pro moderní systémy." Je tato optimalizace s námi v místnosti?
