Collapse Relapse

Collapse Relapse is a 2D retro "claymation" art Metroid/Castlevania style platformer where you're stuck in some castle/dungeon/cave whatever and must find your way to the exit, and in true Metroidvania style this involves unlocking various abilities and exploring the various platformer areas until you find the solution. Platforming is a bit floaty but generally works, it's not great or terrible, just mediocre gameplay and handling. Given there's literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam, it's vital that these aspects of the game must be excellent if a game is to compete for players time. Obviously the best part about the game is the clay modelling... again, not the best ever seen but it's a million times better than lazy, tired pixel "art" that amateur developers often use as a crutch because they can't do any better. It's a shame that technical presentation issues prevent the clay art here from being enjoyable. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

cozy game from a cozy guy! i like everything about this, not much to complain about. maybe that i wish it'd be longer, but that's not really a real complaint. the alternative modes and achievements are all nice to give the game some length. i'd say buy it if you wanna play something pretty unique. going around exploring the map was definitely the best part of the game. being reset and having to figure out the "best path" was also really fun. all in all super cool. bought it because i binged all of this guy's videos and they're also cool. so check those out too.

Really fun to route your way through the caverns while trying to optimize movement. Going for low% has been an interesting challenge so far.

nice experience. there is a combination of platforming and stategising so you get everything you need on the map in time. getting a high % completion on this is a fun task

[h1]１分で脱出するメトロイドヴァニア迷路[/h1] 各所に点在するアイテムで移動力上げて１分後に崩壊する迷宮から脱出する。 なにぶん時間が短いので、効率的なルート構築が求められる。 時間切れになったり溶岩に入浴したら１からやり直し。ただし直前まで持っていたアイテムを１個だけ引き継げる。 ランダム要素なし、ただしランダムモード以外。 敵は存在しません。 日本語ないけどまあ大丈夫でしょう。簡単な英語だし、スマホカメラで翻訳かけれるわけだし。 [spoiler]クリアまで2時間もないが返金は絶対やめてね。さもなくば続編出なくなるぞ。[/spoiler]
