Cold Way

[h1]Cold Pursuit[/h1] A small guy named Player lives peacefuly in an iglu. One day, a big hairy monster knocks at the icy door of the iglu and wants Player to hand over the gold. Player disagrees so the monster destroys the iglu and takes the gold. Player stands in the ruins of the iglu. This is the beginning of a blizzare story of the hunt for the monster and the seek for ice cold revenge. Player walks a Cold Way. Player discovers that the icy road is slippery and dangerous. There are even monsters on the road. The monsters drop Coins. It's unknown if they earned them or stole them. Anyways. The way is difficult. Fortunately, Player meets a helpful snowperson and buys the ability to Double Jump for 10 Coins. Now the Cold Way is easier, Player can jump and run much better. game play here: https://youtu.be/Q4I8Y2-dyKo The creator has really improved from the previous game I've played from him this is a really clean challenging platformer game that does a great job of making you feel like you're improving as you're going through the stages. I love that you don't have to start all the way over if you fail and that you can get upgrades with your coinage. It's a bit short and can get a little bit repetitive at times, but it's pretty fun overall.

Пройшов - в цілому гра сподобалась. Доволі не стандартний для геймдеву підхід спокійна музика і зимовий сумний фон створюють атмосферу повільності, але сама гра при тому дуже динамічна. Зайшла складність з точки зору платформера, в даному випадку порадувало те що в разі програшу рестарт з початку рівня. Але в противагу стрибкам і перешкодам доволі легкий бій. Було цікаво позбирати і по можливості обійти локації різними шляхами. Десь із середини - гра стає простішою ніж на початках, можливо завдяки покращенням, а можливо вже набивається рука. Відчувається деяка не завершеність гри та є незначні баги.

I've bought this game purely to support the developer behind the upcoming game Awita. You can see the developer was learning as he was developing Cold Way. But you know what, it's competently designed and it was fun to play even with that in mind. It's a platformer where you jump, dash and attack. You get coins by defeating enemies and sometimes you can spend that money to upgrade or learn new moves. The game took me one hour to complete but many levels have branching paths. I often focused on one path and didn't backtrack or try to kill all enemies. The good stuff: -Lots of different enemies -Style is cute as hell (I love the Dino) -Platforming is pretty fun, I completed it in one sitting and didn't notice the time -The music is so soothing and relaxing (I really like it) -You can quit the game and continue later Flaws: -No achievements -No controller support or steam overlay, you can make use of steam controller configuration though (that's how I played with a DualShock 4 controller) -Not many options in the settings, there is no replay value -A bit basic if you want more depth -Typo sometimes For 3 euros normal price, this is a pretty neat game. It makes me confident knowing that Awita is in good hands (check the demo out!). It's a massive upgrade in every way and it will have achievements. While this cute game is for the fans who want to support the developer or see the progress made while having a good time.

Simple yet fun platformer. Took the liberty of adding a controller mapping to the game but some places still need a mouse like the menus. No idea how many levels this game is but it seems to be a lot. Does get a bit repetitive after a while but it keeps adding new bad guys like a crab and a rhino. Very tight and responsive controls which is good as you have some very small platforms to jump on.
