Reviews
I got the game because it kinda reminded me of Sexy Brutale, and it does scratch the same itch -- nice puzzles, rewarding exploration, charismatic NPCs, and a funny and engaging story. Recommended!
My biggest grip that the rooms aren't named on the map. The game feels like it has potential but let down by the confusing layout of the mansion and slow walking pace. Giving wine to a ghost was the strangest part of the game. There's interesting dialogue with the characters and finding secret passage. Other that that, it's a tedious game with no end in sight.
The game is much too large for the amount of movement you are able to do, it felt monotonous and I was exhausted, I didnt even want to finish. please let me teleport or something, i was so excited when i finally understood a puzzle but im too tired to finish it.
The game has a friendly and humorous style. What’s great about Clue: Murder by Death is that you can progress little by little, and if at some point you’re unable to find more clues, you can simply continue later without any problem. I also liked that you can choose so many different characters for your team and that they all fit naturally into the game’s narrative.
I picked this up coz I love detective games, and I was pleasantly surprised. The game focuses on investigation, puzzles, and storytelling rather than action, which is refreshing for me. The mansion is designed in a way that encourages curiosity. You're constantly checking objects, rethinking conversations, and trying to understand the motivations of each character. Bases on what I played until now, makes it interesting is that the story is told through different perspectives, so you never feel completely sure about about what really happened until you connect all pieces. It's a thoughtful and atmospheric mystery game that rewards patience and attention to detail. If you enjoy solving puzzles and uncovering secrets, you'll likely have a great time here.
The graphics, voices, and music are all super charming and make the game feel playful without being annoying. The small fetch quests that help you unlock more clues, along with the case timer keep the game pace moving. My one gripe is I get lost often since the map doesn’t show room names or where NPCs are located, which can be frustrating. I’m already looking forward to jumping back in and seeing what else I can uncover.
