DO NOT BUY! BROKEN, AND WILL APPARENTLY NOT BE FIXED. or, you know, take your chances. good luck. Yeah ok. The world does need more short hike -likes. But this one does not work. Or at least I couldn't get it to work on my computer. Makes me a little sad. Maybe it will be fixed? Well... There has been over a year to do so, yet it's still broken in ways both simple and complex. UPDATE: Apparently it won't get fixed. Do not buy the game, or only do if finding bugs is your primary motive. The game has some potential, which will be sad to see get wasted. I'll mess around a bit more, but doesn't look great. Yeah I’m giving up. :(
Cloud Valley is a relaxed adventure game that shamelessly wears its influences on its sleeve. It borrows a lot from A Short Hike (
Hello Claire!
) and Animal Crossing, but it feels like it’s coming from a place of admiration. However, the game feels like it was released too early. I am far from entomophobic, but I felt like I was consistently running into issues. Sometimes it was small forgivable things like temporarily getting stuck in the climbing animation or hovering off the ground after falling off a cliff. While other times it was frustrating things like the playable character getting stuck and having to restart because you were auto saved there and quests not completing despite the task giver telling you about your reward. This is a situation where I wish Steam had a neutral review option. I recognize and understand this is a solo developer who over time will likely fix some of the issues. And I think the price of the game is more than fair when you consider similar games like Little Kitty Big City, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, and Lil Gator Game being nearly 3x as expensive at full price. But there is still some work to be done before Cloud Valley can be mentioned in the same conversation as those games.

Game is short, but it has those nostalgic vibes that hit great. Can be polished on some aspects, like inventory (managed to duplicate objects, woopsie) but gameplay wise ? It's simple, but it's a solid simple if I can say. Don't expect too much out of it, and you should enjoy the game
Another game in what most accurately be descibed as a Wholesome adventure. Games like Lil Gator game, Haven Park, Pine Hearts, Little kitty big city and probably most of all A short hike. A game this is VERY similar to, so close that's it's basically the exact same plot and main mechanics to get to the object, Claire from A short Hike even have a guest appearence so it's not like they are trying to hide their main inspiration, even if a less favourable review could call it a bit derivative. Basically like the previous mentioned ones, this is a very cute non-violent game that take place in a small open world with lots of minor side-quests for the various people you run into to do and collectables to find, all while you can take your time on your main objective and explore as much or little as you wish. If you like that kind of game, then there is more of the same here. It is a bit jank in the climbing and at least once or twice the game froze in a dialogue, but the game autosaves so there was no progress loss. I think most of the games i mentioned earlier are better but if you played A short Hike and want something similar, pick this one up.
Really enjoying this cute casual exploring game. Yes it is new so things are being improved. But it's lovely. Thank you Su!
У игры ужасная техническая реализация, баг на баге, неприятная камера, неприятное управление, отстойная дженерик музыка
Tout mims
At times this game can be a frustrating glitchy mess, multiple times i've been softlocked due to poor level design, or a character running away from me while talking. Other characters seem to levitate off the ground, The game constantly starts in french dedpite selecting english and never remembers user settings such as music volume and the climbing mecanic seems to be intermittent. That being said, its a fun collect-a-thon, that reminds me a lot of 'a short hike' but don't expect polished gameplay. All this aside, it's still a charming experience for those who enjoy casual exploration and light platforming. Just be prepared to deal with some technical hiccups along the way.
It's pretty buggy right now. I can't recommend the game currently!
Cozy camping trip in an archipelago with a heart full of compassion for nature and one another. Lend a helping hand, find treasures, put on a cool hat, clean up the environment. Short and sweet but take your time and smell the flowers.
