This game is.. weird. It's part Cozy game like Stardew Valley where you manage a farm and produce and socialise with the community, part top-down isometric dungeon crawler with JRPG combat mechanics, all wrapped up in a cutesy pastel coloured pixelart aesthetic. ... And there's sex. ... And it all just works? I occasionally find myself replaying it just for the vibes alone. It's not bad! That said, there are some dungeons that (last time I played) have issues like invisible walls where you wouldn't expect them to be, or specific maps that can be a bit difficult to navigate due to janky pathing or graphics not quite making sense. These may have already been fixed by the time of this review though.
10/10 game - 9/10 execution ***A caveat before we get into it: the game has been under development for years and my rating of the game does not take the development time into consideration nor will I allow it to affect "The Good" section*** The Good This is probably the best NSFW game on the market currently in my personal opinion. Came and came for the NSFW stayed for the gameplay. The base mechanics for this game are unlike any NSFW game on the market. Well flushed mechanics that are not simply about being NSFW. Combat is an incredibly fun turn based system. Each companion/creature bringing unique skills and game play for combat. (if you're not using Goldra, Camellia, Kreyton you're doing it wrong though) The story is unique and the dialogue isn't copy pasted from other games. It actually feels like they put effort into their character interactions. Character Gender selection - a Mechanic allows you to switch genders for some unique interactions and scenes. 2 types of NSFW scenes - HD scenes involving the main character and your farm creatures/companions or pixelated sprites that loop while reading through dialogue. Usually I'm not a fan of dialogue driven NSFW scenes but the style of writing they use works very well for me. The gallery has something for anyone and options if you're not into seeing certain content to toggle that off. The farming mechanics and creature automation of it is fun. I spend entirely too much time running around petting every single creature every morning. Seasonal and weekly events keep the grind from feeling too monotonous. The Bad My only true complaint about this game is: it has been out since 2020 and still in early access. Updates can be pretty wide spread so you'll play it for a large chunk of time, beat all the current content, then put the game down until the next update months later, and rinse and repeat. - this is the only reason execution is 9/10 and not 10/10. I have occasionally had a bug after playing for over an hour when you finish combat the game can slow down and/or crash entirely. It's rare but on the occasions it has happened I lost a little bit of progress. I would recommend saving after every combat. Overall- 10/10 would recommend this game. Obviously with the understanding that this game is still in development and you will have play it knowing the main plot is not completed. However everything else in the game makes it worth the purchase and there is plenty of content to grind in the mean time. I say again - BEST NSFW game on the market.
An Overly Analytical Review: The Story and Characters: The story starts with that common farming sim trope, as you’re the new kid on the block who obtains a plot of land by whatever means, with whatever background the character has. But past that, the story is somewhat engaging, I’d say. Nothing too impressive, nothing boring either, as it’s a pretty straightforward story. That goes for whatever morals the overarching theme is as well; you and everyone else on the island are good guys (despite few of them being pricks), and you seek to stop the bad guys from doing bad things. You’re definitely not gonna find any mind-boggling moral or emotional depth beyond that. Despite that though, the writing is pretty damn good. Funny at times, horny during others, and just pulling in general. As for the characters, there’s, thankfully, enough personality and quirks that separate them from one another, rather than them having no variation between them. Given the interactions you can have as well, the personalities everyone has makes such interactions more meaningful, instead of it being a mission, or what have you, to just speak/interact with everyone. And for whoever you select for your party when traversing the dungeons, the characters definitely shine the most during exploration, as they’ll make occasional quips or dialogue exchanges when they occur (which is lowkey pretty often). I haven’t gotten to the romance bit for a character yet, but I imagine everyone’s personality is much more present when moments like that pop up—though I’m uncertain about that, it should be obvious, considering it’s romance. The Farming: Again, it’s a farming sim, so expect a wide selection of seeds, plants, and the whole shabang when it comes to farming—however, it is odd in the beginning of the game. When you first start out, rather than taking a hoe and choosing a random pile of dirt to cultivate, there are preset dirt piles already placed on the farmland that you interact with. More dirt piles unlock over time, much more of them popping up after spending some time in the dungeons, but it is something that threw me off when I first started. But, you get over it fairly quickly, especially when automation starts, if you decide to do that. Speaking of which, you can collect and, or raise monster-folk that you can assign to do your farming or selling while you’re occupied, which for me personally, is a better automation system than just having sprinklers or whatever other contraption you’d normally use. Combat & The Dungeons: I don’t know what the Hell I was expecting in terms of the combat or exploration, but it’s actually fun. Like, engaging fun. You select three other party members (either the townsfolk or monster-folk you raise/collect), head into the dungeons, and engage in turn-based combat. I was gonna mention the animations in another section, but I’ll give a nod here, in by that the animations make you more attentive to the combat, especially depending on who all you’re partied up with. Not to mention the enemies, their designs, and what all they do as well. The one thing I will critique though, is that there doesn’t seem to be much variety between your party members abilities—not that they all do the same attacks, but that there isn’t a DPS or Support variety among everyone; it seems like everyone is a jack-of-all-trades kind of fighter, where they can heal with one move, and do damage with the rest. Take that last bit with a huge grain of salt though, as I really only have travelled with three characters so far, out of the many others you could choose. Aside from that though, the combat is still pretty fun, especially with each character potentially having a mini-game mechanic, where when you attack, you do whatever on-screen prompts for more damage, countering, and so on. The Animations & Explicit Interactions: I mean… you can smash big tiddied ogres, buff lizard bois, femboy cats, and shortstack bats. The Hell else is there to look forward to? And if you’re worried about being locked into one gender for the protagonist, don’t worry, as you can not only change your pronoun and name at whatever point, but at a particular point in the dungeon crawling, you can outright switch between genders (honestly very considerate, but you still gotta work for it). For the animations, whether it be idle characters, combat, farming, sex, the animations are impressively fluid and smooth—it’s practical eye-candy for a lot of what you stare at. Summary: I recommend getting this game. Aside from the sexual content, you’ll much more than likely be invested in the farming, dungeon crawling, and SFW interactions, rather than just raw-dogging everyone. The designs are cool, the atmosphere is cozy, the music is, at times, catchy, and it’s overall just a genuinely fun game. I’ve seen that the devs are continuing to add other content even after all this time, and I legitimately hope they carry on for much, much longer when it comes to adding in stuff. But, whether it be base price, or especially on sale, go ahead and pick this game up.
Cloud Meadow
A progressão, porém, é lenta — bem lenta.
I really like this game! I've been playing this game for.... a few years now ( I think since before there were even monster migrations? But I might be misremembering). I just wanted to say I appreciate all the hard work the devs put into making this very fun game with wonderfully drawn and thought out npc interaction both explicit and not. They some exceptionally interesting and arousing erotic content, while also having it be a little silly sometimes. As an ace person I really appreciate it. They also manage to draw a wide variety of ... assets shall we say, in a way that make them look unique to the species, sometimes a bit over sized than what would be on a human being, but not in like a grotesque or "unnatural" looking way. I'm also looking forward to finding out more about Ev, especially their backstory (childhood in a group home of some sort but it's a well known enough feature that other people know its sensitive topic, something about being born/raised to be a frontiersman(? was one of Ev's parents a frontiersman? is the group home a known home for like Union orphans? God I'm so curious!!!) and the wonderful world they've created. The actual gameplay is also so much fun. i sometimes just get the urge to play this game specifically for the combat and dungeon crawling. Like it's just that good. What a great game. Now here's to hoping my younger siblings don't look at my steam reviews, or else we are gonna have an awkward holiday meal.
Got the game looking for smut, and received that. What I wasn't expecting was an extremely competent battle system and a fun spin on the farming sim genre. Genuinely surprised, and allows for a good binge session for adult audiences. Additionally, the character designs are really neat, and I adore the obfuscation of the general npcs! Their design is whimsical while also being simple. Genuinely really good game and I intend on playing it through.
