Just a other endless EA Patreon sub scam they dont care about steam at all its a lesser version and just a way to get more money, 6 years later the game is at 0.2.6.1? not even half done yet... come back in 25 years maybe the dev will be done then if not retired. I got that game when it get on steam 6 years ago and played it for over 40h and some how got reseted. i guess one of these bug fix made the game a brand new one?
its more of a dungeon crawler with adult scenes. development progress has pretty much abandoned the farm/farm and breeding aspects of the game. no new monsters, no new scenes (except some lackluster and barely visible sprite scenes), no real way to connect with the locals of the town or your monsters in the farm. the game all seems to be about dungeons and dungeon crawling. and even then that part is okay and fun but not really enough to keep someone around. they should switch back to focusing on the farm/farm sim, breeding, and monsters of the game and create more ways to connect with local NPCs and a lot more High Quality scenes, no more little tiny cheap sprite scenes.
The game gave me a good first impression: the art style is beautiful, soundtrack is good, atmosphere is cheerful... But then the gameplay hits, and after a few hours i wouldn't know exactly what type of game I played. - Farming sim? The game introduces the character as a farmer and gives him a farm, but then there's really no point in it. - Monster breeding? Same thing, the game introduces you to it, but then there's really no point in it. - Dungeon crawler? I guess it's what defines the most Cloud Meadow as of today. Most of my 10 hours of gameplay were focused on going through the 1st dungeon. But was it good? Meh. The combat system (team fight and turn-based) is okay but never really pushes you. I went trough the whole thing with the same team, no potion, food or monster from the farm element. I guess it's where the game kind of failed, it seems you were supposed to use the farm as a rear base to improve your team but the story and gameplay focused and allowed you to go straitght trough the dungeon. The story is below average, there's a lot of characters but they are shallow and you can have a sex scene with anyone after a few dialogues. No real relationship or major plot twist. Finally the hentai part is quite poor, you get just one or two pixel-art sprite per breading or sexual encounter. No gameplay, choice, bonus or anything in it. Just not worth it.
Y'know, I never wanted to write a review for this game because I didn't want to out myself for playing it. But screw it. I have so many hours in this game. And no, it isn't JUST for the NSFW content. The farming sim and the dungeon crawler parts of the game are genuinely so well-made. Like, this game has raised the bar for what any NSFW game should be like. And the fact that it's one of the few early access games that has consistently been worked on for years, with new HUGE updates? Amazing. I haven't meaningfully played the game for, like, two big updates or so and haven't seen any of the newer content as such. But I genuinely really love this game. The one critique I have of it is that fact that, though it allows you to select your body and pronouns separately, the game will still treat you functionally as the gender associated with that body type. So if you're a trans person who picks "girl" but "he/him" you will still kinda be treated as a woman, just referred to with he/him. Maybe that's been changed?? But it was the ONE thing I didn't like much when I was playing it constantly a few years back.
tl;dr: Too unfinished to recommend to most people. Development too slow. Can be worth it if you manage your expectations and expect some disappointment. Criticisms on the Farming Sim aspect: "Equal parts farming simulator & turn-based RPG." Ehhhhh not really. As of right now, the game is 80% turn-based RPG dungeon-crawler. The farming sim feels very out-of-place. It reminds me of someone's unfinished flash game years ago. It also feels very directionless and disconnected from the rest of the game. There are no meaningful gameplay loops that feed into the dungeon crawling, the town, or the narrative. They feel like separate games that are fighting against each other, rather than ones that complement the other. I don't really have much hope for that aspect improving meaningfully in the future. Believe me, I would LOVE to be proven wrong. But it feels like the way the two main systems are implemented are fundamentally incompatible without a massive overhaul. Something like: the better your farm does, the bigger the town gets, and that attracts more npcs, shops, quests, and companions. But as of right now, the farm is just a time sink that feeds into itself with no goals & very little purpose. On the dungeon crawling aspect of the game: It is easily the strongest part of the game. While the damage system is very formulaic, the skill system at least has some interesting ability diversity for the player and companions. Still, very little of dungeon progression is rewarding enough to make you want to chase the gameplay. There's not a whole lot of "I gotta see what's next!" feeling. On the narrative aspect of the game: Too much text. Silly criticism, I know. And I like reading! But I like a story that respects people's time. Most of the dialogue in Cloud Meadow is long-winded & recycled humor that goes nowhere. Everyone you run into has that same "ACGNOWLEDGE MY QUIRKY PERSONALITY" energy. My advice to the writers: less is more. Build your characters not by long-winded introductions, but by showing what choices and actions those characters take. Then the player will be drawn in to want to learn more about WHY your characters made those decisions. Hook, line, sinker, and all that. Dialogue will be a -reward-, not a résumé reading. On the rest of the game: There's currently not really any robust dating system implemented that I could find. The art is GREAT. But supposedly (and someone correct me if I'm wrong...) they haven't added any animations for several years (apart from sprites), and have stated they won't be adding any more in the future. For the price, there's probably enough interesting pieces of game to mess around with before you burn out on it. Just manage your expectations. Avoid for now if you're looking for a full experience. Development on the game is very slow and steady, and is very much Early Access. Expect to run into a lot of frustratingly unfinished, loose, or outright dead ends for years to come. No hate - game dev is incredibly difficult. I would love to see this game become something truly great. But it looks like it needs some serious course correction. And that is likely too big of an ask at this point.
The game that wants all of Stardew valley's accord, acclaim and fame with none of the motivation to deliver: It's been six years guys be for real: just like yansim the devs farm out content on patreon and neglect the roadmap. The art is nice but gets tedious when its the only thing you've looked at for years. What was the last creature released? The Crab? Chimera? who knows, who cares at this point. Version 1.0 (release) was supposed to be in 2025 according to the roadmap they announced in 2023. Listen, I get it, things change. Hiccups happen, alright alright, however... Did you guys know this game was "originally" a game called breeding season and back in 2016 the lead artist left the project and moved everything over to Cloud Meadow as a rebrand of sorts. so, arguably it has been OVER TEN YEARS. The art is nice. That's kind of it folks. It's trapped in development purgatory, I've been poking in to see major updates for years now. Just a few hours every update and I keep losing hope for it. Additionally I remember it was a bit of a scandal a while ago where one of the lead developers lead the community reddit with such an iron fist they decimated any player feedback or community upset. Take that as you want. I personally don't enjoy the engagement with the player base. Additional pet peeve: despite the emphasis in the description there isn't BDSM content as far as I'm aware of. At least nothing notable to warrant even advertising it. There's very little body dimorphism with the only unique body shapes of note ESPECIALLY in regards to female monsters. If you're not into HYPER-parts you will not be into this game. There are better adult games out there, better developers too. Best of luck traveler, id refund the game but i cant refund the time I've wasted hoping to at least see this game leave beta.

It would be incredibly easy for this game to phone it in. They could have made a pure sex game, but instead they've put in the effort into the pixel art, the animation scenes, the dungeons, the breeding, and have been working hard to keep updating this game. I appreciate a good mature game as much as the next person, but I truly appreciate the creativity and thoughtfulness put into this game to make it an actual, functional game with great graphics. While it is still a work in progress (UI update would be nice in addition to working on the datable companions such as Yonten and Goldra. Where's my chance to seduce the sexy dragon lady with such high standards, I need climbing gear???) Cloud Meadow has enough areas and events and sex scenes to tide you over till the next major update. Also, it gives you time to get all the gold traits onto one monster. These monsters aren't gonna breed themselves!!
I go through my phases with this game- I play for a month or two, let it sit, and then come back in a year once there have been a few updates. As it is in early access, and has been in early access since I bought it, I've never been under the illusions that I would be getting a full or entirely polished game experience, but honestly, that's part of what keeps me coming back. I like being able to track the development of a project personally from how it feels and looks to play and engage with, and despite what a lot of people dissatisfied with the game say, I've seen Cloud Meadow come VERY far from where it started. To be brief: the art is gorgeous, I think the combat is fun and greatly enjoy the variety of abilities your monsters and party members bring with them, and the story and setting has managed to grab me and keep me wanting more. Updates are slow by the standards of many, but consistent. I'm not a Patreon subscriber and didn't know that there even was a Patreon for this until, like, last month, and I haven't touched that at all, so don't ask me about the Patreon side of things; my engagement with this game, its players, and its developers, is through Steam exclusively. To be less brief: For full disclosure, I don't play this game for the sex scenes- they're nice, I like looking at the fully animated scenes and will peruse the narrated sprite scenes, but they do not make up the bulk of why I have or play this game. If you're looking for a game experience that is going to be all sex, all the time, then you might be disappointed with this one. As much as every other character has their boobs out or a bulge big enough to block out the sun, front and center, and boning is basically akin to a handshake in this world, there is much more to Cloud Meadow than the sex CGs. I like this about the game. Not in a fake-highbrow "oh, I like this porn game for the OTHER parts of it" way, but I like that I can have a game that is unabashedly horny (to a degree that is a little silly at times- again, not a strike against it!) that also has features that I enjoy engaging with that aren't looking at a monster man's nuts (but I can do that whenever I want, too). Farming crops, while maybe Stardew-esque in concept, is not so in execution, and one should not expect that of it. Your crops are not your cash flow, they are your monster feed- each crop has different stats that it influences, with values increasing as the quality of the crop goes up, and this is how you influence the stats of your monsters. Your monster's stats, which are capped by their species-specific genes (which can be inherited cross-species through breeding, for better and for worse), influence how quickly they can complete tasks on the farm, how they perform in dungeon combat, and their value when they are sent away from the farm (or "graduate," as it were). Crops can also be cooked into meals, which function in much the same way, if not more effective in magnitude or spread of stats increased, albeit with more function as health replenishment items in dungeon combat as well. Before I understood this, I found farming to be the most tedious part of the game. I did not see a point in engaging with it, other than to keep my monsters from getting unhappy with me for not feeding them- this may have also been at a time where monsters leveled up differently in the dungeon, which at the time could not have had more than one, MAYBE two floors. Once I came back and understood what purpose, exactly, crops served, that's when I really started getting into the numbers of it: how to build a store of quality crop seeds, the best value per crop per season, which monsters had what stat caps and what they would be fed to get the best optimization of stat gain out of each, which ones I brought into the dungeon and which ones I left on the farm (and which ones had such abysmal gene inheritance that I kept them around for decoration more than anything else- sorry, chimera with cat's stamina, holstein's physique, centaur's swiftness, and wolf's intuition. You're eye candy for the year. I feel bad about sending them away early...), ooh, baby, that's when the REAL gaming started for me. Maybe I am the weird one, here. But I loved that. I love collecting monsters, breeding them for different traits, stat values, colors, and trying them out in the dungeons. It's a fun and sexy little bonus for me that they're also nice to look at. Honestly, I just wish there was more interaction with them, but maybe that's me getting attached to my pink wolf named Jamuel, who complains whenever I bring him into story interactions and made fun of me for fumbling a stacked holstaur lady. Jamuel, I love you. (You are almost certainly not intended to bring your monsters with you into the dungeons and story over the other named static party members, but I just really like trying out different monster configurations. And also get attached to my starting monsters. You have no idea how overjoyed I was when I took them into story progression and saw that they had been given dungeon dialogue.) On that topic, I've said before, but the art in Cloud Meadow is absolutely gorgeous. The environmental design in some of the dungeon floors is stunning, the colors are vibrant, and I'm a sucker for the pixel- to pseudo-pixel art style. The character designs are, 9 times out of 10, really good to look at, be it cute, handsome, sexy, or just real, real nice on the eyes. There are maybe only 2 total talk sprites that I can say I actually *dis*like, and those two are neither here nor there in this review. The foods and drinks also look really good and make me hungry every time. There are a LOT of burgers in this game. Moving onto the story and writing- there is much more of it than anticipated, and I am here for it. A lot of it is kind of goofy, yeah, I mean Cloud Meadow isn't exactly a dark and gritty pinnacle of realism when we're talking about a world with an economic model based around ♥♥♥, but I appreciate the effort being put into balancing the silly pornworld aspects and the parts that do need to be treated with more gravity than a slap on the ass and a sprite of someone jiggling their boobs. Some seem to be unhappy with this, but I, personally, think it necessary to actually build up a world that can be taken seriously enough to immerse onesself in and accept the economic model of milking a magical cow man for his essence. Not to mention, there are elements introduced that I do find truly, genuinely, very engaging, and really, really want to know more about. I want to know more about the Wizards. Now, the writing isn't perfect. In fact, as of writing this review, it can be really, really rough at some points- there is a point in the Savannah dungeon floors where it very abruptly feels like every textbox was written in one pass with only half attention paid to the screen, and a woeful lack of commas. And then, after a few floors... it's fine again. It's prosaic and has meaningful word choice, effectively moves the narrative, and only minimal errors in punctuation or spacing. And then there is a seasonal event, and for a single interaction, it feels like they put the rough draft of the scene into the game instead of the finished text. Truly, I think this is my greatest complaint with the game- what I personally think is the hottest way to write a sex scene is irrelevant in this matter, it's the fact that there are some truly sloppy points in the writing that have gone unaddressed for... at least a year or two at this point? At this point, I am strongly considering emailing TinyHat Studios or Team Nimbus or whatever and offering to copy edit the text in the game for free. Just give me, like, an afternoon with a raw text file and an iced coffee. I'll do it. I have editing experience. Hit Me Up. I think I'm hitting the character limit to steam reviews. Goodbye.
Genuinely liked the the game until I was forced to re fight every single monster just to get back to the lower levels of the savanna with zero way to skip anything so I'm wasting time and hp just to get where I was. Really disappointing and tedious.
