Really great horror and suspense game. It's not about the monsters and jumpscares, this is about the unknown about our own (Marshmallow) story and the edging of being watched at every single step, being probably just fun and entertainment for a public we can't see. Plus, the soundtrack is wonderful.

Play the REMAKE INSTEAD. --- While this game is free and doesn't cost you a dime to play, I still can't fully recommend it. This game does well at providing a strong horror ambience and some well-timed jumpscares (especially in the graveyard girl ending route). However, I found this game to be deeply deeply annoying to play overall. The puzzles are unclear and vague. Traversing the hallways are slow, tedious and sometimes disorienting; you cannot run at all. The plot is vague and doesn't really make any sense. There's no writing that properly world builds what is going on. It arguely could be chalked up to having alot of surreal elements that leads the story to be confusing, but i've played other games that sustain abstract ideas while still allowing the player to make sense of what their role is in the narrative. This was not true for this game so keep that in mind. Also if you endeavour to completionist this game please keep in mind that even with a guide following the steps to 100% this game unclear and confusing because of the layout of the main house and other areas. I was trying to finish it despite my frustration and just gave up because it didn't feel worth it anymore. And most agrrevatingly is the graveyard girl levels. You can lose and die by mere hairs and weird timing of the enemy characters in this game within the game. It is so unclear sometimes where you are supposed to go and how much longer you have to do these repetative levels. I pushed through and was able to complete it but i did not find it enjoyable at all. If none of what I said deters you or doesn't matter to you than go ahead play this game and i hope you enjoy. Just a major miss for me.
Had this sitting in my library for ages and finally got around to playing it again with the new content. I know I could have played the remake, but I'm into dumpster diving for weird obscure games. I had my fun, even if this game is pretty rough. Just a warning, if you wanna play Girl's Graveyard, prepare to suffer. Level 3-2 is incredibly hard and probably took me an hour to beat.

lo recomiendo totalmente buen juego
overall good for free. can recommend it.
Close Your Eyes [Old Version] is a small horror experience built around an unsettling concept where I have to rely on my surroundings while dealing with the fear of what I cannot see. The idea immediately creates tension because closing my eyes becomes part of the experience rather than simply being something mentioned in the title. It gives the game a distinctive identity compared with more conventional horror games. The atmosphere is the strongest part for me. The game uses darkness, uncertainty and sound to make ordinary situations feel threatening. I like horror that makes me question what is around me instead of constantly showing me the monster, because imagining what could be nearby can sometimes be more frightening than seeing it directly. Sound design is particularly important. When I cannot rely entirely on visual information, footsteps, noises and changes in the environment become much more significant. I find myself listening carefully and wondering whether a sound is harmless or a warning that something is approaching. The game also benefits from being simple. There are not dozens of complicated mechanics competing for my attention, so the central horror idea stays clear. Exploration and observation are enough to create tension when the game uses them effectively, and the short format makes it easier to maintain the unsettling atmosphere. The biggest weakness is that the central mechanic can become predictable once I understand how it works. The initial uncertainty is effective, but repeated situations can lose some of their impact if there are not enough variations. More environmental changes, unexpected encounters and different uses of the mechanic would make the horror more memorable. The pacing can also be uneven. Horror benefits from slower moments, but if too much time passes without anything changing, the tension can disappear. I would have liked the game to introduce new situations more consistently while still giving me enough quiet moments to build anticipation. The old version naturally feels dated in its presentation. The visuals are not especially detailed, but that can actually help the atmosphere because darker and simpler environments leave more room for my imagination. The sound and lighting therefore matter more than technical graphical quality. Overall, Close Your Eyes [Old Version] is a short and atmospheric horror game with a memorable central idea. I like the use of darkness, sound and uncertainty, and the simple design allows the main concept to remain the focus. The limited variety and dated presentation keep it from being a particularly deep horror experience, but it can still be effective when it catches me off guard. Rating: 7.8/10
To NIE horror. Projekt dźwiękowy i dubbing były mrożące krew w żyłach i trafione w punkt, wywołując niezliczone dreszcze i przypływ adrenaliny. Podobnie jak znakomita gra point and click „The Cat Lady”, Close Your Eyes mistrzowsko wprowadza cię w bardzo mroczne miejsce i pozwala twojemu umysłowi zająć się resztą – okrutnie go prowokując fragmentami fabuły i sugestiami progresji. Close Your Eyes to jedno z najlepszych horrorów, jakie miałem okazję ostatnio oglądać.
