Good fun game so far. More content is required ofc but the loop is very enjoyable. The main concept of this roguelike is your timer. Your character has seen the destruction of all his town and everyone he knows and gets another chance to defend the town. At first you have very little time and have to try and decide if you use it to explore each area thoroughly or just run through as far as you can. As you gather more resources to take back to town you can upgrade both your character and your timer to start each run with more time to explore more and have a better chance at reaching the boss. Some doors require a certain amount of time left on your clock, some even cost time. So you have to decide how much time you spend obtaining upgrades and how fast you rush the boss, trying to balance power and time. At the end of each run you interact with the story of the game, which is attempting to defend the town and save it. Think of it as a bit like a tower defence but with an ARPG character and some automated defence upgrades you can acquire. Ofc it has all the usual roguelike stuff as well, different weapons, abilities. Boxes, shops, upgrade shrines etc all providing random rewards to make your build or character with for each run. As well has having ways to boost your time remaining. In addition you can find hidden secrets which give your town permanent defence upgrades. Different to most roguelikes though the layout of the map is not random, the map is the same pre-set layout each time. This adds into the time system very well. It means that if you spend a run carefully exploring, you can memorise the layout to make future runs faster. Learn where all the upgrades and time boosters are. Fun game for a very reasonable price. Good pickup for anyone who likes roguelikes. Hope to see more content in upcoming updates.
After a few hours playing Clockfall, I can honestly say the game pleasantly surprised me. What I enjoy the most is its gameplay loop: the mix between roguelite mechanics and tower defense phases works incredibly well. You constantly alternate between exploration, progression, adapting your build, and trying to beat your time while reliving your nightmare, which makes it very easy to say, “just one more run.” It has that satisfying roguelite feeling of gradually becoming stronger while keeping the tension. Every run, you'll go further. Another major positive point: the game runs really smoothly. On my end, I didn’t encounter any major issues, game-breaking bugs, or performance problems, which made the experience enjoyable right from the start. Overall, I have a really good feeling about the future of the game and what it could become. The foundations are already solid, and I’m genuinely excited to see how it evolves over time. Clockfall is definitely worth trying.
I wish there was a neutral scoring I could give for games, in particular for Early Access, because the foundation of this game is actually really solid. The core gameplay loop keeps you wanting to return for "just one more run" to carve a path to new areas. There are, however, some fundamental issues in my opinion regarding the meta progression and the feel of combat. Meta progression seems grindy/slow, mainly due to the fact that the currency you obtain can be spent in run (and it is REALLY needed in the early game) to progress via the time-mechanic. This means after your run, you barely have anything to use on power-creep meta progression upgrades. This, is a problem. Dev's, I highly recommend you check out SWORN's meta progress for in-run versus hub currency. Next is the combat, it's very static and you get locked into animations without a fluid dodge-cancel. After playing various other action isometric dungeon crawlers, Clockfall combat falls short in this current build, and really needs more flow to it. The weight of attacks feels good, but escaping an attack once you've pressed it, really hurts the experience as it's not possible. Other games do this majestically well, and this game deserves to feel the same. This IS a game to watch grow, I am all for new ideas and methods for this genre to discover, and Clockfall, given enough time, could really blossom. I give it a thumbs up in the hopes that more people give this game a go and provide solid feedback for the dev team to work with to make this a successful product, and in turn, we get something new and shiny to explore and fight our way through! #SupportSmallerGames
Testeur sur une des premières versions beta, le jeu montrait déjà du potentiel. Les retours ont été entendus et pris en compte au fil des versions pour aboutir à une version vraiment intéressante avec un concept un peu nouveau
Clockfall: a promising roguelite. Cockfall: probably something you should consult a doctor about. Clockfall managed to catch me off guard in a very positive way. the game feels smooth, each run is fun to play and the progression system keeps you entertained, even when you die. It's still early access so the game will keep upgrading even tho its already really enjoyable.
Promising early access roguelite ARPG, fun loop, rough around the edges

The good:

Addictive roguelite loop, clear zones, earn gold, spend it on permanent character upgrades.
Exploring zones to find new farming routes and unlock previously unseen areas feels rewarding.
Top-down view similar to Diablo 4, familiar and comfortable for ARPG fans.
Horde mode (unlocked via tokens found during runs) is a fun secondary challenge.
The skill tree looks expansive and promising.

The not-so-good (early access roughness):

Some zones feel unfinished or lacking content.
Skill tree has missing nodes / placeholders.
I personally encountered 2 bugs during my playthrough.
Combat animations can feel floaty at times.
One boss in particular had buggy animations.

Verdict:
If you like action RPGs mixed with roguelite progression, Clockfall is already enjoyable despite being early access. You can feel the potential, and the core loop hooked me. Just go in expecting some missing content and rough edges. Worth a wishlist or buy if you're okay with following development.
Прикольний рогалик. Контенту мабуть не сильно багато, бо дочасний доступ.
The game is on early access and already has a good foundation, the gameplay loop is interesting with time as a ressource that you can upgrade allowing you to dive deeper into the levels. The fighting mechanics are similar to hades so if thats something you should definitly give this game a try. Content wise it has a good replayabilty and a big skill tree allowing you to make the character really powerfull, im sure as the game gets more updates we will get fun new levels, spells and weapons.
Clockfall is a true rogue-lite gem, made all the more impressive by the fact that it is the work of a very small independant team. With its smooth gameplay based on timed control, satifying item synergies, and polished art style, the game delivers an addictive loop and a rewarding challenge. It is a passionate, handcrafted title that is an absolute must-play for fans of the genre.
