I'm always reminded of this game whenever some solo roblox developer once again puts out a climbing game more immersive than what a full studio could do. The routes are linear, it feels less like exploring a vast mountain than it does following a very obvious route like in some single player campaign game. You practically have little to no room for any deviation or options for meaningful alternative routes. That and the gameplay is very much compressed in practically all aspects. As in the day/night cycle is down to 1 minute = 1 hour, you will have to replenish your stats every couple of minutes of climbing, you fail to do so, you die instantaneously, and the actual route length feels more like a prelude, like a training course for the actual mountain you're suppose to be climbing. As to not be all critical about it, I do think they had a good idea. Having to pack up and choose what equipment you want with limited space, having various passages requiring different climbing techniques and setting up camp to wait out storms or simply rest, it all sounds neat and some of it was executed well, the rest maybe not so much. For instance, I did like the icepick climbing, securing yourself with ropes on steep slopes and if you didn't have to do it so frequently I would've also liked the camping mechanic. The whole preparing thing though felt a bit jank, as in what's the point in giving me free will if I'm gonna need a set of specific items to venture up this linear path. I'll simply get the required number of ice screws and then the best gear I can afford after that. In the end I think the game was shooting too high, wanting to have Mt. Everest for the sake of it, but only ending up with something visually and gameplay wise akin to some random lower mountain in the Himalayas. That plus the game does not seem to be getting any more updates; I can hardly recommend it outside of steep sales. (also I'm not sure what this is about the difficulty in the reviews but personally I can't say I had any trouble with it; achieved 100% within 3 hours)
理智掉的有点快了
a ♥♥♥♥ game
