Cleansuit

Text adventures are about as common as rolling a natural 20 on a 6-sided die, so when one comes along that is not only expertly designed AND a home invasion horror title...you know you're in for one hell of an experience. The beauty of Cleansuit is that not only does it have a full blown tutorial for users unfamiliar with the text-adventure genre to get comfortable, but it's excellently written and paced which will keep them engaged. The dialog is one part insidious and one part tongue-in-cheek, allowing for the horrific scenario to have a balanced ebb and flow of tension and humor, thus keeping the player on the edge of their seat without alienating them with cliche'd jump-scares and other amateur hour levels of nonsense. The setup is quite simple and instantly effective: You are home alone and a knock comes from the door. You see a man with a cleansuit on and a briefcase. From that point on-wards you know it's only a matter of time until he finds a way in, and it's up to you to use your wits to survive. Look around, read everything, pay close attention to descriptions of areas/items and NEVER take something for granted as it could lead to survival. While each playthrough may be quick (even more so if you type "die"), multiple 'routes' to success are available, as you have the ability to escape, kill, or render the intruder inert through a varying plethora of items and setups, giving you even more reasons to keep coming back. Couple that with the highly affordable price point and you've got a must own for anyone that enjoys the concept of a text-adventure OR a horror title. Cleansuit is a breath of fresh air among the consistent deluge of jump-scare riddled, uninspired 'me too' horror titles and you owe it to yourself to experience it.
