Tried to play this game with two other people. We had to use public lobbies because the private lobby codes were over a dozen letters long. As soon as we got into a game, we got stuck; all three of us staring at the map covered in fog with no way to actually play or progress the game. The game looks ugly, misspellings are common, and the game is non-functional.

3/10 A f2p 4x strategy with turn-based battles Good: - nice basic idea of capturing sectors and having turn-based combat in each sector, with unit production going in parallel with the combat like in an RTS - music is of surprisingly high quality (probably stock tracks?) and is in stark contrast with everything else. Ironically, this contrast makes the rest of the game look even uglier So-so: - the combat feels sluggish. It takes at least 3-4 turns to accumulate enough gold to produce a unit, and you start with zero units. So, the first 10-15 turns are wasted waiting for at least a few units to get built. Units move just 2 tiles (on a square grid, and don't move diagonally), so it takes some turns to just reach the enemy. There is also fog of war, so at first you don't even know where the enemy is, and spend turns exploring. All this together leads to a boring drag in the beginning of every battle. Though I guess it was like this in traditional RTS games Bad: - the UI is absolutely atrocious and is so disgusting that one has to wonder if the developer even has any respect to players to publish an app looking like this. The fonts are huge (actually, uneven in size). Apparently, the game was designed for mobile and assumes that the user is playing on a tiny screen of a smartphone (like, 320x240 pixels). The UI uses just standard Unity's gray-ish images and the stub Arial font. This is all so lazily done that honestly (unlike when typically reviewing free games) I don't even have any bad feeling giving a downvote - tutorial is almost incomprehensible because of how it's designed. Full-screen popups appear with several areas that each has 1-2 sentences in them. It's impossible to know what these sentences relate to because you can't see the actual game behind these popups. Also, it takes an insane number of steps to just start a game - there is no "single player mode" directly available, and one has to go to menus that look like an online game but from there select that it's a game vs AI or something. - there are some settings you have to pick to start a battle, an it's all very confusing. E.g. you need to press on "Merchants" button to actually select it, but there are also "<" and ">" buttons which scroll between the faction names or whatever those are. The user would expect that a faction is already selected if it's already on the screen, without clicking on it's name. - there is a campaign mode that uses an ugly-looking low-poly gray-ish map with something that looks like sectors. Controls are confusing. Also, buttons are often grayed out, and it's unclear why, or what they even mean - to make it even more confusing, the game apparently requires the DLCs to be purchased for some units to become available. However, you can still select them - they just won't appear in battles... - sound effects are annoying. When you move the cursor around the battlefield, over each tile there is a too loud sound that would be move appropriate for "select" action maybe, not "hover"/highlight... - graphics are rudimentary, most use geometric primitives and plain gray color - unit stats are all shown at tiny scale under the HP bars. Actually, it's the first time I see it done like this in any strategy game. Instead, games typically how just 1-2 most important stats and put the rest into a mouse-over tooltip or an info dialog in the corner of the screen Overall, it looks like a student project where the task was to implement mobile in-app purchases and "core gameplay". No one cared if this game would actually be playable or fun.
