The game greets you with a narrative right from the start, introducing the lore and the world, which immediately helped me with immersion. I’m not really a fan of rock music, but the soundtrack surprised me in a very positive way — it genuinely made my head nod while playing, it’s just really good. I also really liked the high-quality pixel art, the variety of enemies, and especially the core idea of having 9 cat characters, each with 9 lives. Every cat has unique characteristics and abilities, and I consider this the game’s main signature feature. Because of that, I was very motivated to unlock new characters and try them out, since I knew each one would offer something new and unique. The levels have their own themes and fitting enemies, which keeps the experience fresh. I played on normal difficulty, but the game still feels quite hardcore. I’m used to slashers where you move freely, cut through enemies, and gradually learn enemy movement and attack patterns. Here, however, the constant downward progression changes that feeling. Often you can’t see where you’re about to jump, tiles need to be destroyed or carefully bypassed, and the character can’t simply jump over or drop through them — you have to either blow them up or go around (Maybe it is how I felt I shoud play). To be honest, this part didn’t fully click with me. I’d be curious to see how the game would feel with a more horizontal level flow, something closer to a left-to-right structure like in Dead Cells. I also felt that I was missing a deeper upgrade system for the cats. For example, increasing sword swing range, expanding bomb radius, throwing two bombs as Larry, and similar upgrades. Maybe this unlocks later in the game, but if not, it’s something I’d really love to see. Combat feedback could also be stronger. When hitting enemies with a sword, it sometimes feels more like hitting them with a stick. Personally, I was missing a bit more impact and a stronger “slash” feeling during combat. Overall, the game is simply fantastic, and it’s very clear how much effort and care the developers put into it. I didn’t encounter a single bug during my playtime — the game feels polished, high-quality, and absolutely worth its price. I can easily recommend it to anyone who enjoys Roguelike platformers. This is definitely a hidden gem.
Absolute carnage with a great aesthetic and an absolutely BANGING soundtrack! If you like fast-paced, chaotic combat, speed metal and cats, it's an absolute must have.

One of the best games I've played all year. The soundtrack and character design is incredible and the environments are memorable. The boss fights are particularly fun, too. Sadly, the game suffers from the graphics being so tiny and zoomed out that combos are unsustainable and noticing some smaller enemies becomes a high stakes game of "Where's Waldo." Solid 7/10 though, and Banshee is metal af.
Lots of cats, lots of fun!
Fast-paced, fun, and surprisingly addictive. The retro visual style is great, there’s a lot of weapon and card variety, and performance is solid even during chaotic fights. Definitely worth trying.
I was a big fun of Kickback Slug so wishlisted Clawpunk despite not being a huge gamer. I found the gameplay to be very simple, even for a beginner, and the chaos in the game makes it incredibly fun! I haven't unlocked any trophies yet but am looking forward to playing longer to complete as much as I can. The characters are great fun and the voices are amazing - is one of them Greg Sestero from The Room..?
I had an absolute blast with Clawpunk. The gameplay is fast and fun, the combat feels snappy and offers a good challenge, and the punk vibe keeps the action coming. The soundtrack is a standout and really adds to the atmosphere, chaos and keeps the energy high. Great if you want speedy action with lots of punk personality.
I really like the chaos and action in the game. The controls, graphics and music are really nice. Please buy it.
I tried to play this game on my steam deck, emphasis on tried. The sprites are too small and don't stand out well from the background until you're right next to them.
