About

One of 2022’s most acclaimed indies, the Game Awards-nominated Citizen Sleeper is a Tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

Inspired by Tabletop Roleplaying games, Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world. Each cycle you use the dice you are dealt to choose what to do with your time. Make or break alliances, uncover truths and escape your hunters. Survive and ultimately thrive, one cycle at a time, and sometimes against the clock!

The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, trying to eke out an existence among the stars. Salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, street-food vendors, each has a history which brought them here. You choose which of them you wish to help, and together you will shape your future.

Eventually, you will learn to use your dice to hack into the station’s cloud to access decades of digital data, uncover new areas and unlock secrets. This is your unique power, and with it you can change your future. Corporate secrets, rogue AIs and troves of lost data await those willing to dive into the depths of the station’s networks.

Essen-Arp: to them you are just property, one more asset in a portfolio that stretches across the stars. You are the product of an abusive system, in a universe where humanity’s expansion is marked by exploitation and extraction. Escape the makers of your decaying body, and chart your own path in a richly imagined, deeply relevant sci-fi world which explores ideas of precarity, personhood and freedom.

Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.

Each cycle you roll your dice. Assign them to vast range of actions available on the station. With every action, choose what, and who, matters to you, shaping the lives of those around you, and ultimately the future of the station.

Clocks track both your actions and the actions of others across the station. From becoming a local at the Overlook Bar to protecting a friend from Yatagan enforcers, clocks allow you to track your own progress and the influence you have on the world around you.

Follow drives not quests, allowing you to pick and choose the stories and activities that matter to you. As you do, you will shape your character's five skills (Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage), unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect and change how you choose to live in this world.

Citizen Sleeper now includes all three post-launch DLC episodes FLUX, REFUGE and PURGE, which expand the game and introduce additional characters and locations to Erlin’s Eye in an exciting new late game storyline.

I don't know how to describe what im feeling, or how this game has made me feel this way, but one way i can describe it, is as something has been changed, inside me, for good and forever. Like something has grown inside me. This game is about growth, and how everything will change, and it will be alright. You are dumped into a world that is falling apart and through the game, you help bring everything back together. On the less philosophical side, everything about this game is amazing. The art is just stunning and really helps bring the characters to life, the music is not super noticeable, but helps tie the atmosphere together perfectly, and it perfectly blends with the sound effects and ambience. The immersion is very encompassing, and i only ever felt out of place when i noticed a reused sound effect from In Other Waters. For gameplay, it's very simple, and reminiscent of a board game. The game never has any skill based stuff anywhere, and it never felt challenging. There are some things could be improved, but they are mostly about how shallow the systems are. Where this game really shines is the writing and the stories it tells. If anything, its more like a visual novel with some gameplay thrown in for immersion. Each character feels fully fleshed out and real, with fully understandable and realistic motivations and lives. Now on to some of the things i have to say about how it could be better. First of, there is almost no gameplay challenge. This obviously isn't what they were going for, but it does loosen youre immersion. Secondly, there is no time pressure if you haven't started a drive yet. You can wait an infinite amount of time for some things, and they won't start or do anything until the player wants to. This really breaks immersion, as a whole fleet of refugees who desperately need food and supplies, shouldn't be able to just wait 100 cycles for the player to show up. Third, the upgrade tree is very easy to fill out. This makes it almost pointless which profession the player chooses to start with, besides from a roleplaying aspect. In conclusion for me, the eye will forever stay with me as one of many homes, and i will definitely be playing the sequel. This game is better than In Other Waters, so Starward Vector must be even better than this. If youre thinking of buying this, please do. 11/10.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A delightful short story about escaping your chains and what it means to become part of a community as a drone in a cyberpunk dystopia. A series of short stories where your decisions and more importantly, when you make your decisions are the key gameplay loop, the stories are all well written and alone make the game worth the time I spent with it. I really enjoyed this and will definetly give citizen sleeper 2 a spin
Amazing characters and super engaging gameplay mechanics.
Solid story, artwork, animation and gameplay loop. Narratively, feels right up there with something like Murderbot.
It's not really a "game", more like a choose-your-own-adventure sci-fi book, but I'd give that book 4.5/5 stars. There's no voice over or narration or sound effects either, you're just reading and clicking through. Having said all that, the writing and atmosphere and characters are all amazing. The setting really sticks with you, and all the endings really hit you in the feels every time. "Gameplay" basically comes down to choosing which order to complete tasks by clicking on them. The dice don't add much randomness, and after you level up a bit you can complete almost every task without issue. There are several independent plots/quests, each leads to their own endings, but the choices don't affect the other plotlines in any way. You can get every ending in the same playthrough by choosing one option to end the game, then continuing from the home screen to redo that choice and pick the other option.
Good game, good writing. It is nice
Game is great ! Although to my mind the last chapters outsay their welcome 8.5/10
