Lack of testing and lack of interest from the Russian developer here are to blame. Circus Pocus is more Russian GameMaker Studio copy+paste overpriced cash grab shovelware from the Russian developers at HugePixel, doing what they can to pollute Steam and lower the average quality of all games everywhere. Here we have a broken game that, from the screenshots and video, is just a simple 2D top down action/evasion adventure game where you run and dodge through various 2D top down levels. So even if it worked it would be a very shallow experience that wouldn't appeal to gamers anyway. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", HugePixel has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game. The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the insane price of $7 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.

Circus Pocus reminded me of the SEGA game "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" with simple puzzle mechanics. Hide from clowns, cut clowns, don't love clowns. In general, back and forth, not a damn thing comes out. The badger in the tree and I was shamanizing him, and the chicken crowed and the blanket was wet.

รีวิว Circus Pocus โดยรวมเป็นเกมที่ดีนะ เพียงแต่เกมมัน error กลางทาง ทำให้เล่นจนจบไม่ได้ เลยให้แต้มลบไป เราเล่นเป็นพระเอกที่โดนจับเข้ามาในสวนสนุกร้างโดยไม่รู้สาเหตุ เขาจึงต้องออกตามหาเพื่อนที่โดนจับไป และออกจากสวนสนุกนรกนี้ให้จงได้ ตัวเกมเป็นแนวผจญภัยกึ่งเอาตัวรอดจากตัวตลกปีศาจที่จะเข้ามาจัดการเรา ผสมกับแก้พัซเซิลตามทาง ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นการตามหารูปปั้นแล้วเอาไปวางบนแท่นเพื่อเปิดประตู กับสะเดาะกลอนเพื่อเปิดทางไปต่อ แต่ละด่านจะค่อนข้างสั้น แต่กับดักเยอะชิบหาย บางด่านมีบอสให้จัดการ ซึ่งสู้ไม่ยาก ถ้าไม่ติด code error จนเล่นไม่ได้ ผมว่าเล่นไม่ถึงชั่วโมงก็จบแล้ว สรุปอย่าซื้อจนกว่าผู้พัฒนาจะออกมาแก้ไขตัวเกม แต่คงยาก เพราะหลังๆเอาแต่ออกเกมใหม่กับลดราคาเกมเก่าๆ เกมตัวเองไม่ซ่อม ไม่คิดถึงจิตใจคนเล่นเอาเลย ซึ้อมาแล้ว ใครๆก็อยากจะเล่นจนจบเกม นี่ผมพยายามโหลดเกมเวอร์ชั่นเก่าๆก่อนแก้ patch มาเล่นแล้วนะ ยังติด error แบบเดิมอยู่เลย ลงมาแก้ได้แล้วมั้ง

Circus Pocus: неплохая инди-головоломка в которой ты будешь убегать от клоунов. Интересный сюжет, за которым можно провести несколько часов, .Отличная рисовка и приятное музыкальное сопровождение. Вообщем классная игрушка.

Circus Pocus - игра с простой механикой головоломки, в которой необходимо прятаться от клоунов. В игре приятная графика, простейшее управление и не обычные разнообразные уровни. Простая инди-игра в которой можно убить пару тройку часов. За свою стоймость, это довольно приличный продукт.

the game is not bad, run, dodge traps, solving simple riddles to open the door run from clowns in general, a sinister circus. everything is fine in the game, I like it, I recommend. in general, I allow you to play it.

Эта игра очень проста для понимания. Лёгенькая игрушка, чисто походить, попроходить самое то! Множество разных, интересных уровней. Самое прикольное то, что она весит мало МБ и не нагружает ПК! :) Так, что я думаю, что игра подходит для всех

Купил игру по скидке 30%. Сама игра с видом "сверху", что нестандартно и интересно. Игра весит меньше 100мб, что круто и подходит для относительно слабых компьютеров. Задумка тоже нестандартная, что мне понравилось. Опять же, не смотря на вес игры (>100мб) графика сделана неплохо и достойно. подводя итог могу сказать, что игра, наверное, стоит своих денег и проводить в ней время очень увлекательно. Советую попробовать!)
