About

The undead are coming — and standing still isn’t an option.
In Chronocide, you fight back against massive undead hordes in third-person combat, combining fast-paced action with trap-based defense. Build deadly setups, trigger physics-driven chaos, and survive wave after wave using both skill and teamwork.
Every run is about experimentation:
Set traps, lure enemies, knock them into hazards, and watch your plans either succeed brilliantly… or collapse in hilarious disaster.
Whether you’re holding the line alone or coordinating with friends, survival depends on smart positioning, timing, and creative use of your tools.
Freeze enemies - Cut them up - Launch them into spikes - Burn entire hordes up

Coordinate defenses - Then improvise when everything falls apart.
The 4 available heroes play very differently and complement eachother;
Waldis the wizard - elemental magic and projectile weapons
Rolanda the paladin - support, buffs, and frontline presence
Mike the soldier - precise gunplay and ranged pressure
Anthia the necromancer - spells and summoned minions

Complete levels to earn stars and upgrade your characters and gear. Unlock new items, improve your abilities, and refine your strategies as the challenge ramps up.
Chronocide rewards smart planning and mastery — but it also encourages trying wild ideas just to see what happens.

Play solo or co-op (up to 4 players)!
Mix and match roles in co-op to create powerful team synergies.
This game is challenging - If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Or... switch to casual difficulty - Less hardship but also less star rewards.
Missing stars on a level? Replay it to increase your rewards.

What a nice surprise of an indie niche game. I purchased it for the 3rd person action TD aspect of it but got a lot more than I was expecting. In its early state I am digging the amount of stats, weapons, traps, upgrades, and play ability. I have only tried the paladin so far and she has some meaty upgrades like +1 enemy hit with sword swing (I like this one) and damaging aura to enemies, but I don't have enough of the specific upgrade points to have them both at the same time! Playing and beating a level will let me earn the upgrade points I need to get them both. Playing well will let you earn more upgrade points too. I am early in the game and and still finding my play style but I can experiment on how I want to attack the level. I can chose to upgrade her physical power, weapons, traps, HP, defense, etc. Even though my playtime is low I can see I am barely scratching the surface of the amount of things that can be buffed. The levels so far are sparsely detailed but the action, game play, and spell effects really take your mind off that aspect. And its looking like the dev is serious about releasing new content as evidenced by the new patch, which enticed me on to write these words! So things can be improved, added, balanced, etc, before final release. I know its a long shot for indie devs to achieve a thriving player base but it would be pretty pleasing to see this game have one. I say this because it makes it VERY easy to host your own multiplayer co-op game. So hit me up if you want to jump in!
This game has been a lot of fun so far. The characters all feel unique, and Anthia is easily my favorite. There's also a surprising amount of upgrades and progression, and the combat feels satisfying. The game can be pretty challenging solo though, and I definitely struggled at times. I love the graphics, the old-school look has a lot of charm, and the lore has been interesting enough to keep me curious about the world. Looking forward to seeing how the game develops during Early Access!
"Oooooohh, sneaky..." This game is very goofy, but quite fun. There are some issues with the game like seemingly improper enemy scaling for 1-3 players (maybe skill issue), but I like the silly direction it's going for. The game dev wanted to make a game and so they did. One feature I really like is the optional roguelike gamemode. It adds some interesting dynamics to the game
My buddy and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, it is a blast lmao. We definitely found the combo to max out and have committed to maxing everything out, certainly looking forward to Act 2! Game is nostalgic as hell.
What I enjoy most about this game is how every run feels like a chance to improve. The action keeps you engaged, and there is always that feeling that the next attempt might be your best one yet.
Really fun indie co-op game with satisfying trap setups and chaotic fights. Every character feels different, and experimenting with builds/traps is what keeps me coming back. Definitely challenging, but pulling off a perfect defense with friends feels great.
Recent graphical update and balance patches make an already great game even better! Very excited to see what's coming next.
Make your way through increasingly tougher enemies as one of four characters with each unique abilities, Chronocide offers 1-4 player co-op but today we'll just be running solo. Let me preface this by saying I wish Steam had a "Informational" review option as they do for their curators. I don't think this game is bad, but I also can't recommend it to solo-only players. Please read my review before judging the game! First thoughts Right off the bat we're greeted with an arcade-style menu with Runescape-esque player models and graphics to beat. The character selection menu offers promise of personalised loadouts. The animations are nowhere near godly, but they have a charm to them. So does the voice-acting which is clunky enough to convince me it's generated but not that I'm sure of it. As there's no disclaimer, I'm going to assume it's humans who've never spoken to humans before. Also Mike, buddy, don't point guns at yourself when introducing your character, this is how you get killed. Combat/game tutorial I'm met with font a little too small for my bad eyes to read, the italicised font is a challenge to comprehend and colour on colour confliction. I would really love to see an FOV and UI size modifier in the settings to accommodate better accessibility. The sound balancing is a little on the rough edges too, with the character dialogue being really quiet and the music being very loud. Also to ensure parts of your menu that you are explaining in the tutorial are not blurred. Pretty much every single UI element in the tutorial was blurred so the text bubbles lead me on a goose chase hoping to remember the feint outline of the icons behind it. As a solo in this venture I went for who I thought would be the best choice, a crowd control character, Rolanda. I realised the meta very quickly. *Ranged weapons.* Such as your local crazy wizard lady, Anitha the Necromancer. Upgrades finally came around after my first successful clear of the dungeon's many dead-not-dead things, It also shows you can upgrade your traps and minions which I planned to thoroughly abuse-had it not been so expensive. Barely getting by and I can't afford to Flipper do flappy things quickly? That hurts. I also spent most of my game walking backwards with a quick tap of the 'S' key, not invigorating gameplay that I so hoped from a game labelled as 'Chaotic' perhaps it's only with friends that it becomes as such? But unfortunately this game is not made for casual solos. This is a game where you're going to be depending on the chaos your friends create to stay alive, there's not much you can do other than hope your strategies are good enough to outlive the overwhelming hoard of undead at your doorstep, I am not. I wasn't fond of the loop or the heavy lean on big-brain strats to stay alive, nor was I living up to the dream of being the strongest wizard out there. Now, with friends however? I bet this game's a hoot for a few hours. But alone it does not meet my mark of being a good solo-friendly option. Final verdict - Better with friends - Needs accessibility work done for menus, audio balancing, and UI elements - Clarify cost of traps placements clearer - Enemy difficulty needs better balancing for solos on 'casual' difficulty
