They made achievements for the game, that can only be completed if you purchase the DLCs
Free TD with payed DLC, very similar to the simplified Kingdom Rush. After 10+ hours i don't recommend the game! Pros: translation into English is not without flaws, but understandable; nice graphics; no real P2W; many levels, types of enemies and towers. Cons: tedious grind; bad interface (no KB controls at all!); unblanced difficulty; terrible AI (turrets attack first seen enemy, not closest to crystal or magic towers constantly attacking enemies, immune to magic).

Bought the DLC's after a couple of hours of playing, but neither heroes, towers or gems is gained. Restarted game, verified game files, restarted Steam - nothing helps. And it is not refundable.
Played the free version, and this is how it goes: I loved the graphics and the overall idea of the game where you have towers and also a hero to use. I love the tower options I love how the game makes you work for the win. I love how the tower upgrades are automatically shown and that towers have their skills after a full upgrade! I don't like how difficult Easy looks, I can imagine how hard other modes are. I don't like how the enemies just start walking, no option to play/pause them and think the strategy through before it begins I don't like how difficult it is to upgrade towers in the main menu. I don't like how you rely too much on ultimate skills. I don't like the system of buying upgrades with coins at the beginning, because it's free anyway, make it popup automatically and not have us click for a 0 coin upgrade. It needs more explanation and more intros, not just to throw you into the game constantly.
VERY good. The closest thing to Kingdom's Rush. Better in some respects. Quality design and programming. It's fun.
Definitely recommended for fans of tower defense who don't mind a mobile style game. For free it is worth checking out and will be familiar to Kingdom Rush fans, I find it to be slightly superior. +Art style +Tower defense gameplay +Variety of towers/upgrades +Variety of heroes +Free -Poor tutorial/intro -No pause between waves to build -Mouse only -Grindy for upgrades/components -Balance issues
"Chrono Crystal" is not a complete game, it's an advert/demo, and you have to buy the full game through DLC. What is this advertisement all about? Well it's Kingdom Rush from Temu... it resembles Kingdom Rush visually, but the TD aspects of the game are a shallow, unpolished, clunky yet simplistic mess. And while this doesn't seem to have been published on the mobile app stores, it's a mobile app at heart... an immediate disqualifier. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out $4 USD on buying the DLC, and I don't recommend you do that. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 12 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
