About

Chronicles Of Sagrea is an action-adventure game set in a medieval fantasy world in which you'll experience a thrilling journey through different locations across Sagrea as you discover the details of the story and confront numerous threats.

It has been a long time since the gods ceased to walk among mortals and Sagrea is in a tense situation due to the rivalry of its two main kingdoms.
Meanwhile, in the east the roads are no longer safe and merchants who go into the frontier never return. Rumors say that a dangerous group of looters could be behind these events. The King of Thodgar, focused on his war efforts against the Kingdom of Arthosh, ignores the requests of the locals to send reinforcements to investigate the matter. Therefore, a reward has been set for whoever is able to find them and defeat their leader. As an adventurer who likes a challenge, you have accepted the contract. Will there be something else behind these events?

Choose between three characters to start your adventure: Kholdir the barbarian, Zeira the Amazon or Sir Edric the knight, each with their own characteristics, specialized in particular types of weapons and having different attack combos.
Face your enemies, dodge, block and use devastating combos to finish them off. Each weapon has its own special attack and each character has his own set of combos that you can unlock and improve using ability points, obtained by increasing your experience level as you progress in your journey.
Enter fortresses, ancient ruins or catacombs and try to be cautious of any dangers you may encounter. Your only aid will be your own skills and the steel of your weapon.

An obvious love letter to Blade of Darkness and I'm all here for it. Having just finished the story with Sir Edric after 10 hours, not counting the demo, there's a few things I can say about this game, good and bad but mostly good. If you're a fan of the old Blade of Darkness you'll feel right at home with the combat, it's not exactly the same and it occasionally suffers from input delay but it features the directional strikes, combos and weapon's special attacks which was a great thing about BoD. Your character levels up which let's you use better combos and weapons that you'll find along your journey. I did miss the armour upgrades that BoD had and almost expected that to be better in this game but sadly there was none. World and level design were pretty good and nostalgic for older fans, all that was missing was the narrator on level transitions which also brings me to my next point. Voice acting: it needs work. The woman sounds perfectly fine but the voiced men characters have way too many sound effects applied to their voices. It's obvious that the VA isn't a native English speaker but what I think makes it sound not so great is the sound effects. The story was pretty interesting, not too overdone and with enough world lore to be interesting. Music was minimal but fine. Sound effects for fighting, movement, etc were good. Enemies were varied enough to be interesting but a lot of them fought in the same way. The boss fights were pretty challenging but fair. I did have a noticeable performance drop on the last two though, which made the input delay even worse and the developer might wanna look into that, as the game ran perfectly fine up until that point. TLDR Good graphics; decent sound; nice fighting mechanics (with occasional input delay); challenging boss fights; decent story. All in all, good game. Would recommend for people who like RPGs, souls-likes and especially to fans of Blade of Darkness.
This game starts out pretty good but its ridiculously difficult enemies (even on lowest difficulty they are absolute tanks and the bosses hit HARD) combined with clumsy controls (especially when compared to the silky smooth Blade of Darkness) make it really hard to recommend. I am in the middle of the game and while the puzzles are clever and the game has good atmosphere, the gameplay is too much of a poop. Just stick to Blade, or play this as a curiosity and don't expect anything. If you want more Blade, this is it, but way worse, unfortunately.
He tenido que desinstalarlo tras varios bloqueos y reinicios del ordenador, una pena, me estaba gustando ese aroma a Blade Edge of Darkness..
