Steam is drowning in thousands of lazy, low-effort top-down console reject shooters, and "Chopper To Hell" is yet another one. I'm not kidding, there's over 6,000 of these on Steam, and almost all of them are garbage, amateur kitbashes. This is not one of the good ones. This looks a lot like a handful of low quality Unity assets dropped on a basic twin stick shooter game blueprint... there's nothing else here. You control the helicopter asset and you shoot the spider assets in a pointless and empty wave survival twin stick arcade shooter. It's junk. The huge initial price on this makes it seem like a somewhat deliberate attempt to get gamers money for someone else's Unity assets. Top-down/twin stick shooting is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lackluster experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product. This feels like a tech demo more than a full game. The game assets here look a lot better than the actual game they're assembled on... that doesn't mean this is necessarily an asset flip or a kitbash, because there's no proof. But what matters is that this has all the same terrible quality as asset flips, and at the end of the day that's one of the reasons people don't like asset flips, the quality is bad. That's a problem. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $15 USD for this. Yeah, fifteen bucks... for this garbage. How is this not an attempted scam? Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.

[list] [*] The chopper movement feels very jittery at times, as if one of the control directions was "stuck down" and I was fighting it. [*] The cannon upgrades from 1 shot to 2, 3, 4. Then goes back to 1 for some reason which is not clear (to me). [*] It's not clear to me how to use the right-click... is it a flamethrower? Is it a daisy cutter? [*] there's no sound effects yet. [*] the music is dull and boring. [*] after clearing out all hives, nothing happens, not even a "great job, you win!" popup. [*] there's no death animation for the spiders. [*] there's no hit animation for the spiders damaging the chopper. [*] there's only one enemy type. [/list] This is a good start, though! Keep at it!

Игра 'Chopper To Hell' – это адреналиновый шутер с видом сверху, где вы управляете боевым вертолетом и сражаетесь с полчищами демонов и другой нечисти. Геймплей динамичный и аркадный, с простым управлением, которое позволяет быстро маневрировать и уничтожать врагов. Визуальный стиль нарочито брутальный и кровавый, вдохновленный олдскульными платформерами вроде 'Doom' и 'Serious Sam', что придает игре неповторимый шарм.
