Chasing the Unseen

I can recommend this game if you find yourself in the mood for a slower paced surreal platformer. Edit: 100%ed. The hint system expands after the basic credits, so this is not as difficult as it first seems and became very enjoyable.

Gorgeous, haunting, esoteric. Unfortunately the most impressive moments are all in the first couple of levels - that's not to say that what follows is bad, it's just not as exciting as the big creature stuff. I like the uncompromising design of the worlds. That being said, the coconut dog collectathon is a little grating if you decide to go for them all.

I wish I could give this game a mixed review, because it deserves it in its current state. But with more polish it could be a genuine recommendation, so I'll be hopeful. When the game is at its best, it's genuinely interesting, platforming around surreal dream levels and grabbing onto massive creatures. But just because something is a surreal dream, it doesn't mean it shouldn't also be a fun level, and a lot of these are too undirected to enjoy much. It's unclear too often where to go, which leads to leaning on the navigation guide every few steps, taking away from the exploration. Not only that, but levels are almost entirely just rock formations. You can climb on things, but most levels have no climbable surfaces, so it's entirely platforming with an ungraceful child character. Finally, the levels are livened up with collectables, but they're truly awful. Capybaras--notably chill animals--are instead hopped up on caffeine and zoom around faster than the player, sometimes outrunning you over a minute of going in one direction. And there are way too many of these--one level has 50! So that's a lot of negatives. I do genuinely enjoy the atmosphere and some of the level mechanics--the one where platforms explode out when you're near was a highlight. It's also not very long, which has pros and cons. If the levels can be spruced up with some more direction and the capybaras given a chill pill (or at least turned into rabbits) then I think this game is worth the time. Otherwise, maybe give it a miss for now.

one of greatests games i've played on my life, it has huge impact on peoples's lives, it teachs a lot while enjoying game. Freedom/mind control at finest.

Cool atmosphere and a relaxed but engaging experience. Love the sense of scale. What you see is basically what you get but there's nothing wrong with that.

Управление странное: то персонаж несется и прыгает на большую высоту, то не может забраться и соскальзывает с пригорка. Запутанные лабиринты с тупиками, затянутое перемещение по уровню. Причем уровни довольно однообразны, и не всегда понятно, был ты тут уже, или нет.

I am very taken aback, in the best possible way. While I knew this game was going to be special and unique after I previously tested it a bit, while delving into it deeper And spending more time, eventually finishing it, I struggle to describe precisely my feelings. I suppose the most accurate way would be to say I am content and satisfied. But also flabbergasted. I was not expecting the game to feel so... overwhelming. The sheer magnitude of the megastructures, the size of the creatures and constructs, it all made my head spin. An experience I've only felt during VR games, But not an unwelcome one. While I did feel a bit dizzy, it was more out of sheer amazement and bedazzlement. I adored every second of exploring the world. I've never played anything like this before. The closest experience in certain aspects, I feel would be shadow of the colossus. A parallel not easily granted. While the actual gameplay is very different, the scale of creatures is comparable. An important aspect that the game left me with, is the whole meditative experience that I was feeling during it. For the unique gameplay aspect, I really quite enjoyed that the game, while easy, still is mostly a navigation, Observational puzzle game. Find where to go and how. With really lenient controls to allow for fun exploration, though With dozens of dead ends, which to me, gave more of a sense of organic feeling of the structures. I can easily see why people would dislike it, but I loved these aspects. In other aspects: Music is simple and atmospheric, very minimal. Servicable. Story is instrospective, focusing more on the visuals and centering the player on the meditative journey. Loved it, truly and thoroughly.
