Bundle fodder that dropped cards. That's all you need to know.

At full price it's a bit expensive, but with a discount you can take it, run and jump for a couple of evenings, and half the cost is recouped with cards.
its ok
⭐⭐⭐
Charlie’s Adventure is a compact, straightforward platformer that embraces simplicity above all else. Rather than building a sprawling world or layering in complex mechanics, it focuses on a brief, action-driven experience centered around dodging hazards, fighting off groups of zombies, and navigating bite-sized levels. You take on the role of Charlie, a character thrown into a small but lively series of stages filled with traps, enemies, collectibles, and the occasional surprise. The tone is light, the pacing quick, and the game wastes no time introducing you to its one guiding principle: keep moving, avoid danger, and survive long enough to reach the exit. The structure of Charlie’s Adventure revolves around its twelve levels, each designed to be more of a reflex-driven obstacle course than a deeply strategic experience. You jump across pits, avoid spikes, dodge falling traps, and weave through zombie mobs that provide the game’s primary conflict. These enemies are intentionally simple—more obstacles than thinking adversaries—which means most encounters revolve around timing your movements rather than engaging in tactical combat. This design choice keeps the gameplay accessible and easy to learn, making it suitable for players who want quick bursts of action without worrying about complex systems. While the simplicity works in the game’s favor initially, it also reveals the limits of what Charlie’s Adventure has to offer. The enemy variety remains narrow, the zombies behave similarly across all stages, and many hazards repeat with light variation. This repetition doesn’t necessarily ruin the experience, but it does mean that players looking for a richer or more varied platformer may find the adventure running out of steam before it reaches its conclusion. Some levels also introduce jumps or traps that rely heavily on precise timing, creating occasional difficulty spikes that clash with the game’s otherwise casual feel. For completionists, gathering all of a level’s collectibles can feel more punishing than rewarding, especially when certain items are positioned in areas that demand near-perfect execution. Despite these limitations, the game maintains a certain charm through its pacing and accessibility. It offers full controller support, straightforward controls, and extremely low system requirements, which broadens its potential audience. The short level structure makes it easy to play in brief sessions, and the quick restarts help maintain momentum after mistakes. In moments where the action flows smoothly—zigzagging through zombies, leaping over traps, and reaching the end with no mistakes—Charlie’s Adventure finds a rhythm that’s satisfying in the way only simple platformers can be. However, it’s important to approach the game with the right expectations. Charlie’s Adventure isn’t designed to compete with polished, high-budget platformers or deeply inventive indie titles. It is, at its core, a lightweight experience meant to deliver a handful of fun, fast-paced levels without requiring much investment from the player. Those who enjoy casual platforming and don’t mind a bit of repetition will likely find it a modest but enjoyable distraction. On the other hand, players who expect richer level design, smarter enemies, or more mechanical depth may find it too shallow to hold their attention for long. In the end, Charlie’s Adventure is a small, unpretentious platformer that provides exactly what it promises: simple levels, basic combat, and a quick dose of action. Its charm lies in its accessibility and straightforward design, while its shortcomings stem from the same lack of complexity that defines it. For players seeking a brief, easy-to-pick-up game with a touch of zombie-themed flair, it serves as a decent way to pass the time. For those hoping for something deeper or more inventive, it will likely feel like a stepping stone rather than a memorable adventure. Rating: 6/10
