Experienced on the Oculus Rift
I would have done a video review on this one, but I honestly don't know what to say. This is the epitome of experimental VR experiences. You will feel lost, disturbed, uncomfortable and you may lose your eyesight or have an epileptic seizure. This is about 11 minutes long, but the store page says 15 so I don't know if I manually quit too early when it said the end. I did wait around for a bit and nothing was happening. I'm not sure if you're supposed to contemplate in silence for 5 minutes or if something does indeed happen. I have no idea how to describe what happened during the VR experience, but I shall try. There was lots of music, strange / odd visuals, and trippy effects. Does it mean anything? I don't know, but Ben Lunato is either a genius or a madman or has a brain tumor or maybe all the above. He definitely has a vision though. He's doing stuff with VR that nobody else is doing .... probably because they are afraid to get sued from the loss of vision this may cause. I don't know if I liked it or not. I just know it's experimental and very different from other stuff in VR, but very similar to Ben Lunato's other works ... what a short, strange trip it's been. Rate ?/10. This experience makes rating games seem so dumb. How do you rate art? What is art? Is this art? I imagine most people won't like this, but it will leave an impression. Anyways, thank you Ben Lunato, you're definitely a mad man!

ben lunato is either some kind of genius or he has seen hell. either way, I'm not sure if I'm terrified of Chalice or if I want more.
consume the trippy chalice
Chalice is literally painful to watch at times: way to much distortion and intentionally glitchy visual effects. But there are some memorable scenes in it including disturbing culmination.
Is this Meth?
yet another mind-bending, physically painful vr nightmare typical of ben lunato. he continues to break the boundaries of vr storytelling, playing with the interface to create experiences that cannot be translated, or even summarised, in any other medium.
CHALICE is a Free VR experimental arts project. it worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Was a trippy experience, about 11 minutes worth. I didn't notice anything or feel different while watching this. There is some interactive objects and maybe some easter eggs. Make you wonder sometimes, if your VR graphics is bad. Starts with some thin lights in front of you and music, just keep watching. CONS: Does not work with Index HMD and controllers. Warning: Can cause Epileptic Seizures, headaches, eye strain. Try it, if you like Art.
