A fun little rpg for when you don't know what to play. Aside from a few collision issues, nothing bad to report. Can recommend!
Chainmail Bikini starts out as a fun JRPG, but then falters with a severe lack of content. It's like the devs started out with a good idea, then simply gave up. STORY: You and your friends will go on some adventures in your area. You are given some quests to do, with a great deal of money as a reward. GAMEPLAY: If you've played JRPGs before, you're in familiar territory. You equip 4 characters, kill monsters, raise levels, and buy items to make yourself stronger. Combat is where you are given commands to fight, run away, use magic, perform a special move, or use items to help you. When the enemies take enough damage, they will die, and vice versa. PROS: The graphics are really nice, done in a nice 2D style. The dungeons are not overly difficult either, so no drawing out a map as a guide. And I really like the characters you have to play with. CONS: So here's where I'm going to get critical. First up is a game bug. The game would freeze up randomly. When that happened, I had to turn off the game and restart. Second, you are given 5 or 6 quests to do. Once that is done, game over! There is no main quest. There is no big baddie trying to take over the world to kill. Doing the quests did not take much time either. I completed the game in 3.1 hours. You only have two villages to explore, and three dungeons. That is it. Finally, there is a severe lack of random encounters. To fight enemies, you see them on the overland map wandering around. When you walk up to them, the battle will start. Random encounters don't happen. Once the monsters are dead, they don't respawn. If you're wanting to raise levels or get money, forget it. I walked around for 2 minutes, without anything happening. OVERALL: I only paid $1.99, for this. It was barely worth it. I have played some free JRPGs on Steam, that had a lot more content than this.
