There are some very atmospheric moments in this experience, in particular when you fly across London, and when you first encounter the ghost of Christmas future, and it's fine lengthwise, although I strongly recommend buying it on offer - you can definitely get much better value for the full price. Although I enjoyed it, there are some things to be aware of; it's too dark in places, it crashes a fair bit, and the controls are a bit funky (at least on Quest) - it was quite hard to click the 'Start' option, but fortunately there isn't any other interaction that matters. My biggest criticism is around the story though. Broadly speaking it follows A Christmas Carol, but honestly, beyond the ghosts of past, present and future, I've no clue what message each segment was presenting - if they're meant to tie back to the original story they were lost on me; murky stuff about shadow people, murky stuff about children, brighter stuff about a dog. Honestly, no clue, and I know the book well. Still, if you can pick it up for a £1 or less (which you can as I write this) it's worth a look.
es un cuento narrado. vivido y entretenido si se quiere. no es un juego. no se puede interactuar con practicamente nada. aca un video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zchywoLEgx4
I can't really call this a "game." It's a twenty minute cutscene that attempts to tell the events of A Christmas Carol in a spooky scary way. In an effort to make the story about the player instead of Scrooge, they've abstracted the events enough to make them lose all meaning. The player is given absolutely nothing to interact with, except for twice picking up a pen to sign a book for completely unknowable reasons. Despite there being a line of dialogue implying that there was a choice coming, the story ends with absolutely nothing resolved, and with the player having done nothing but watch a bunch of skeletal spooky dudes slowly walk around a room. I would have been fine with this just being a surreal and artistic experience, but adding to my frustration were performance issues that forced me to restart four times and nearly crashed my headset a few more times after that. I don't mean to ♥♥♥♥-talk this game, clearly a lot of love went into making it, but... this wasn't a worthwhile experience. I kinda feel like it just wasted my time.
An enchanting and haunting seated VR experience. Great voice acting in addition to beautifully rendered characters and scene design that I look forward to immerse myself in again.
I'm torn between giving this a Yes or No rating. I think a "neutral" rating would be more accurate. I would give it maybe a 5/10. I would not pay more than $5 for this. Pros: - Environments (the rooms) are very realistic. - I love the dark atmosphere. Cons: - The voice acting is very annoying, especially the Ghost of the Christmas Past. His/her voice was like nails on a chalkboard. - There is no actual game. You just sit there and watch them tell a story, which is essentially "A Christmas Carol". - The character models are a bit weak. - It's too short. I finished it in about 25 minutes. - There is really no replay value.
This excellent VR experience ran well using the HTC Vive, Valve Index and also the HP Reverb (constant 90fps) but with the Vive Pro it drops to 45fps?!! I am running an i7-8700k @ 4.8Ghz and 2080 TI so clearly this game was not properly optimized for the Pro. All in all, it's worth the money but if you are using the Vive Pro you may experience horrendous reprojection and dropped framerate. If someone knows why this happens with the Vive Pro leave a comment.
Deciso no.
Around 20 minutes cinematic experience, but very well done.
Leider nicht wirklich gut. 4€ für 10min zuhören und zuschauen. Man macht nur 2x kurz was kleines, aber das wars. Echt enttäuschend :(
Not very interactive and doesn't work with index controllers. Quite beautiful though.
