Very short but good. I loved the boss.
The game is pretty good, and it has elements of a Souls-like game, but it's only the elements. There are many issues, such as the movement feeling very stiff, while the combat animations are great. However, these two aspects don't blend well together, and the optimization isn't very good either. Playing this game on a 1660S only gets 30-50 FPS. Hopefully, it can be improved.

Recomendado
Pretty good, I hope to see more.
so i play elden ring and dark souls 3 on my ps5 and i got this since im broke and its very well made. a tiny little complaint is the critical hits are a little repetitive since i did it on a tall dude and i stabbed his nuts. 10/10
After enjoying my time with Blood Spear late last year, I decided to check out some more soulslike student projects, and Cervus Blade has yet again proven that skilled developers can do great things with a limited budget and manpower. It’s a short, hour-long experience, but manages to pack some interesting ideas into it’s single level and boss. It all starts with a well-drawn series of vignettes explaining the premise. Zara, a Hunter, is sent to investigate a massive deer skull that has appeared in the desert, changing all around it into antlered monsters. The skull itself looms over you throughout your short journey through the village and church that make up the two main location of the game, lending its eery otherworldly presence to an otherwise rather empty skybox. Don’t expect a ton of depth to the combat here, it’s all fairly barebones. You have your traditional light and heavy attack along with a generous parry and dodge, which you can use to either whittle down an enemy’s health or exhaust him, which opens him up for an execution. There are no additional weapons to find, and no armour or accessories. You level up at shrines, investing your hard-earned souls into one of four stats. If that was it, then Cervus Blade would end up being a pretty mediocre soulslike. Luckily it manages to redeem itself with an innovative mechanic called. Once you’ve filled the meter by killing enough enemies, you can enter a heightened state of awareness where every action you take summons a different minion to help you out. At first you can only use your pitiful villagers, but as you get stronger you’ll end up summoning spearmen with every perfect dodge, for example, or a shield-bearing protecter with every perfect block. It's a fun little system that I’d like to see a bit more fleshed out with, say, the possibility to customize and upgrade your little buddies like the soul gems in Nioh 2. Now, admittedly, there are a few occasions when the game’s shoe-string budget rears its ugly head; I had some problems with lock-ons, some weird hitboxes, and my character often took too long to end her animation which led to me to being ganked before I could react, but they are minor quibbles on what was a promising first attempt by Team Blade. I should probably also mention the game is 100% free, so there’s nothing to stop you going and trying the game out for yourself.
Cervus Blade didn’t hook me story-wise; the narrative feels weak. However, the leveling/progression is satisfying: you level up as you move forward, grind to the final level, and then fight the boss. The mechanics are decent—nice for blowing off steam.
