Cattails | Become a Cat!, developed and published by Falcon Development, is a life simulation RPG that takes a familiar foundation—open-ended progression, relationship building, and resource management—and reimagines it through the lens of a feral cat’s life. Instead of farming or crafting in a traditional human setting, players are dropped into a natural world where survival depends on instinct, observation, and adaptation. This shift in perspective gives the game a distinct identity, even as many of its underlying systems draw from well-established simulation formulas. The experience begins with a simple premise: an abandoned housecat must learn to survive in the wild and eventually integrate into one of several colonies. From there, the game opens up into a largely non-linear structure, allowing players to define their own goals. Hunting becomes a daily necessity, requiring careful timing and positioning to catch prey, while exploration leads to the discovery of herbs, hidden areas, and new opportunities. Over time, players build relationships with other cats, forming friendships, rivalries, and even families, which adds a social dimension to the survival mechanics. This blend of personal progression and environmental interaction creates a loop that feels both grounded and engaging. One of the game’s strongest aspects is its atmosphere. The pixel art style is simple but expressive, giving the world a warm and approachable feel while still conveying the challenges of life in the wild. The changing seasons and day-night cycle add a sense of rhythm, reinforcing the idea that players are part of a living ecosystem rather than a static environment. The pacing is intentionally relaxed, encouraging players to take their time and explore at their own speed. This makes the game particularly appealing for those looking for a low-pressure, immersive experience rather than a highly structured or goal-driven one. However, this relaxed design also contributes to one of the game’s primary weaknesses: repetition. While there are multiple systems in place—hunting, gathering, social interaction, and light combat—they do not evolve significantly over time. The core activities remain largely the same from beginning to end, which can make extended play sessions feel predictable. Progression is steady but not especially dynamic, and the game rarely introduces new mechanics that fundamentally change how it is played. For some players, this consistency is comforting; for others, it may limit long-term engagement. The narrative elements are subtle and largely optional, centered around restoring balance to the world through interactions with a mystical force known as the Forest Guardian. While this overarching story provides some direction, it is not the primary focus of the experience. Instead, the game emphasizes player-driven storytelling—forming relationships, building a family, and carving out a place within the colony. This approach works well for those who enjoy sandbox-style gameplay, but it may feel lacking for players seeking a more structured or emotionally impactful narrative. Customization and progression systems add a layer of depth, allowing players to improve their abilities, specialize in certain skills, and shape their role within the world. Seasonal events and optional tasks provide some variation, though they are not enough to completely offset the repetitive nature of the core loop. The simplicity of these systems makes the game accessible, but it also means that they do not offer the complexity or variety found in more expansive simulation titles. In the end, Cattails | Become a Cat! succeeds by embracing its unique perspective and delivering a cohesive, relaxing experience built around survival and community. It may not offer the depth or variety of larger simulation games, but it provides a charming and distinctive alternative that stands out through its concept and atmosphere. For players who enjoy slow-paced, open-ended gameplay with a touch of role-playing, it offers a rewarding journey into a world where survival is simple, but meaningful. Rating: 9/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Absolutely fantastic. Hunting, foraging, cat politics, living in a colony with all that entails but in cute pixelated form. Love it and high recommend. Even the music and the ambiance is great, and the story already has me hooked. Planning to get Wildwood asap!
If stardew valley and warrior cats had a baby :3
