Holiday cheer, ultra-light edition
Snowy streets, jingling vibes, and a whole lot of cats pretending to be decorations. This festive hidden cat game is short, sweet, and very much about vibes over challenge. You get 5 levels, each filled with 100–105 cats, and you’ll blink and be done… then blink again because the speedrun achievements ask you to do it all twice if you missed them. The art is simple but super cute, perfectly on theme for the holidays, and the cozy mood does most of the job here. Sound sliders are included, controllers get vibration support, and you can choose between a relaxed mode or a timed one if you’re feeling spicy. Hints recharge every 30 seconds, don’t mess with achievements (mostly) because you only need to clear a single level hint-free for 100%, which is very chill. That said, it’s tiny. Really tiny. One full run took me 19 minutes, and going back to grab all achievements bumped it to about 32 thanks to mandatory speedrun achievements for every level. There’s also no save system mid-level, so quitting means restarting, and the zoom feels a bit inconsistent from one map to the next. The forced tutorial is a bit annoying too, especially since you’re required to use a hint because some cats are hidden behind the on-screen instructions no matter how much you zoom. And with the lack of brightness options, it really adds up. Still, as a quick festive experience, it does the job. It’s cheerful, harmless, and very good at flipping the “holiday mode” switch in your brain. More worthwhile to grab if it's on a heavy discount. If You expect to get a nice relaxing Cat game, You are NOT. After I was done with the game I realized that I missed some Achievement. I forgot to check the Achievement before I stared the game. Well.. They have Speed run Achievements, You have to replay all 5 levels in under 3 minutes. I have now played the first level for about 20 time with an Auto clicker, mostly I did it in 6 min. only once I did it in 3::25, so I give up. I don't recommend this game, Stay far away!
Cats Visiting Christmas Town is a fun hidden object game filled with Christmas charm and kitties to find across 5 festive maps.
Gameplay & Features
Settings include; audio controls, language, vibration (on or off) and a reset game option. If you wish to put your game into windowed mode, put -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080 (or a resolution of your choice) under properties in the games Steam library page under launch options and relaunch the game. Then after relaunch just hit alt+enter for it to resize. Highlights * Relaxed or timed mode available * Artwork is hand-drawn (a nice touch over all the AI games) that is cute and festive * 5 festive maps for you to enjoy * Most of the achievements are easy except the timed ones * The cats purr when you are near one and meow when you click on them * Soundtrack is festive and Christmas-y * Hint system with rechargeable hints * Most of the cats are easy to find as the map in not interactive, no cats hidden behind or in objects
Overall Experience
I think this game is charming and I really enjoyed the other game also made by AGE Zero called Tiny Cats. I am not a fan of timed achievements so those are a bit of a shortcoming for me as I play these games for a relaxing experience but for some the timed mode is a highlight. I tried the timed mode and got by all the levels and while doable it was honestly not overly enjoyable. Just frustrating. They only give you 3 minutes, if they rounded it up to 5 then it would not be as stressful. Also do not rely on the purrs to find the cats, it just tells you a cat is in the vicinity but is not highly accurate. Still the price is nice and the artwork is adorable. All the cats look like cats and none are just a tail sticking up or squiggles. For those versed in this genre you know what I mean when I say this. A festive find to keep the Christmas spirit rolling in the new year. 🐈
Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one. 5 levels + each have a timed version for achievements which is somewhat challenging :)
༶•┈┈୨♡୧┈┈•༶ A cute sweet game, but I really did NOT like the cursor or the fact that you can't change the cursor. It was uncomfortable and bad to use in my opinion. Still, I can't hate on finding cats, so I recommend it
A fun little game with a festive theme. A relaxing game if you don't care about the achievements. I do care about achievements, and I hate speedruns. For those reasons I am not recommending this. 5 levels. Approx. 100 cats per level. Timed mode available for each level. Took me approx half an hour to complete all 5 basic levels (not in timed mode). Complete each level in timed mode in under 3mins to get all achievements. - The cats all looked like cats. - The backgrounds are cute and festive. - You can control the volume of the background music and the cat noises separately. - You cannot turn off the custom cursor. This is mostly ok, but it did make it hard to hit some of the cats. - There is a large counter at the top of the screen which blocks a significant amount of the screen. - Tutorial is not optional. - There are achievements tied to timed mode, and the time restrictions are a challenge. Of course you aren't obligated to get the achievements, and the timed mode is entirely optional anyway. However I dislike timed challenges at the best of times, and find them extra annoying in an otherwise relaxing game. - It takes a little while for a cat you've clicked to become coloured in. Maybe a second or two. This wouldn't be a problem, except that when combined with the clicking difficulty of the cursor and certain barring objects (such as the cat being partially behind another item). With this combination it can mean you don't notice a cat you clicked on didn't register as being clicked. This is mildly annoying, although in timed mode it can be the difference between hitting the 3min mark for an achievement, or missing it.
Ein sehr tolles Hidden Spiel. Wir haben hier 5 Level wo wir verschiedene Anzahl an Katzen suchen müssen. Für mich waren sie alle recht einfach zu finden. Es gibt auch Zeit-Erfolge. Keinerlei Probleme beim suchen :)
Fairly decent hidden cats game. Does come with multiple levels, so you get a little more bang for your buck than usual. While not overly difficult, I did get stumped a few times at where to find the cats. They can be pretty hidden! But, I definitely dislike the speed run achievements. Not enough to knock the review from positive but something that completionists should be aware of before buying.
This is a casual and short point-and-click game that's perfect for cat lovers. The sound effects, especially the purring and meowing, add a lot of charm and make the experience even more delightful. My only complaint is that the hint button is too large and easy to accidentally press, which can be frustrating if you're aiming for 100% achievements. Despite that minor issue, it's an adorable and enjoyable game overall!
