Catch the Thief, If you can!
Quando vi Catch the Thief, If you can! Recomendo Catch the Thief, If you can! E recomendo ainda mais se tiver amigos para jogar junto, fica extremamente mais divertido, sem eles, é apenas um ótimo jogo casual.
Pontos relevantes:
+ Multijogador local de até 4 pessoas; + Otimização;
Precisa ser melhorado/adicionado:
- Mais cenários para sua versão final; - Adicionar opção de multijogador online;
Quer saber mais de outros jogos?
Conheça nosso projeto. The gameplay is easy enough to understand that I don't really see any need to review it, run, catch thief, avoid traps and gather loot, that's it. (simple, simply put) Conclusion at the bottom. So, to the complaints, mind you it is early access so some issue I write here may've been fixed while I post this... First off, it crashes every time you close it (rather, you get the "send error message" within the steam client, nothing to care about really, still worth mentioning) The camera - when you start a chase - seems to live it's own life which means that you'll lose a couple of seconds and as the time limit is fairly tight that little bit may lose you the level. You can't rebind keys. The menu system is a bit odd, B or Esc does nothing, instead you choose "back" and press A or Enter, nothing majorly awful but it's quite unusual. It does need a bit of tweaking, my framerate was under 30 w/ RX480 8 GB, I5 6400K, 8Gb RAM and an SSD, lowering draw distance and a few other options got me at a 50'ish framerate. (again, early access) Graphics when you're in water are very...LSD'ish one might say, if one hasn't tried the drug, it may very well be more magic mushroom'ish, as a boozer I'd say very "at least an entire bottle of Vodka"... So, to my first iimpressions, I like that you can swim. It's easy enough to be entertaining for a bit. I don't like the time limit being as tight as it is, it's very much on the limit, especially - as mentioned - with the clunky start and I'm also unsure on how the timer works, I did press arrest with about a second to spare but the game ignored it. (early access) As the sprint key is a one press and you get a speed boost, kind of like NOS in the arcade racers, I would like to see some meter telling me when I can use it again. A also do like that the "search" is limited, you get ten and can then buy more in the shop (where you also buy ammo and bombs) - it's only an in-game shop, you spend money you gather in the game. I also like that they added dates for when (at least some) portals will open up to give you new worlds to chase criminals in. Conclusion: Overall in it's current state I'd say it's ok, not going to refund it as it basically does what it says on the tin and it should improve with patches. Would I recommend it as a buy right now...not sure, I'm on the edge as it was released today we can't be sure it'll get patched, so; a cautious maybe, but only if you have disposable income.
This is a fun little game with room for improvement. It's like playing cops & robbers as a kid... https://youtu.be/YvjLroxB3eo Enjoy :)
A neat little Cops-and-Robbers game. Catch the A.I. or catch/run from your buddies in multiplayer. Avoiding traps and getting a taser to the face of course. Simple. Bringing the childhood alive! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjaH30zJ76w
Catch the Thief, If you can! is a mostly-abandoned Early Access, playerless third person action PvP brawler with a cops and robbers theme. The focus of the game is pure PvP, there's no single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the game. The vast majority of PvP-only games fail because they don't "go viral", and without players, or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. It failed. SteamDB shows the game hit maximum peak players just after launch, with only a tiny 3 consecutive users, which is a pitiful number, and now the game has practically no players, with nobody playing at all, just a one or two people logging on briefly every week or so then quickly deleting the game when they see how bad it is. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! The game has been in Early Access since 2018 and while it's still getting updates, it's deep in Development Hell. One must wonder why patches are being made for a dead game with no players, but this is an irrelevant mystery considering the game is dead. There's no reasonable expectation that this will ever be completed. Whether the developer lacks the time, funds, or skill/talent required to complete a video game isn't really something gamers should be expected to accept as an excuse. The developers made the terrible mistake of launching a multiplayer only game in Early Access. This is almost certain to kill the game. Most gamers will evaluate a game only once. If they do so when the game is incomplete, they will check it out, then abandon it (just like the developers did). When (IF) the game eventually does get around to release, there will be no players, because the developers burned the first impressions through their faulty Early Access experience. Players who saw the game and didn't like it because it was incomplete do not come back. Multiplayer games must have a large population if they are to go "viral" and succeed, especially without single player content to fall back on. Releasing a multiplayer only game into early access kills the game population, and thus the game, before the game even launches. The developers made the fatal, lazy mistake of believing that PvP, other players, would be an acceptable substitute for doing the difficult job of adding single player level design, storytelling, NPCs and other rich aspects of designed game content to the game. As a result of this choice by the developers, the game has little to no actual interactive game content. It's a little considered fact that the vast majority of PvP only, multiplayer only games fail. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for doing the job of game developers and building a game filled with content. PvP only games must have a huge player base for them to "go viral" and succeed. But with no single player experience to add lasting value to a game, the developers instead chose to bet against all odds that their game would "go viral" without any actual reason for players to want to play the game. Predictably, they lost this bet. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. Resolution also seems to be locked, so there's no way to improve the poor quality low poly visuals. Catch the Thief, If you can! didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievments, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for unlocking the first extra playable character, and only around 29 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game, less than half the players. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. Unethically, the developer sold keys to this abandoned Early Access game into cheap, nasty game bundles, where they knew it would be advertised and sold as a complete game. This seems to have been done in an attempt to mislead gamers into buying a knowingly faulty, defective and incomplete product. When a developer does this for a game they have zero practical intention of completing, this is essentially a scam, an intention to get paid for a broken/unfinished product. Often this is done as an exit strategy, as the developer takes the money and runs. No refunds have been given, the developer kept all the money they took from gamers. Catch the Thief, If you can! has an overly optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, the abandoned nature of the game and the questionable ethics from the developer, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
I think this will shape up to be an adorable game. It brings out that arcade, old school gaming in you. The graphics are adorable, the sound and music just plain fun. Currently it is in early access, and needs some tweaking here and there. I found the PC controls very awkward, and perhaps a controller is the way to go for this game. The time frame for winning a match is very hard, but could have been down to my inability to control using mouse and keyboard. Overall, with a controller I think this would be a hoot, and challenging.
needs work and finetuning before i retry it ... - the settings window is locked to the 'graphics options' once you have been there .. even closing the settings and reopeing them will keep you on the gfx options; you can use the button to change to other option pages like the key bind options, but it'll just show the gfx options instead (and you can't change anything if you're not on the actual gfx page) - although everything is set at epic this game runs poorly on my system ... i'm getting about 40-50 fps with a core i5 3570k@ 4ghz, 16gb ram, ssd and an Amd RX580 8GB gfx card. other games with similar gfx deliver at least 90fps or more (i'm playing at 1920x1080) - the game itself; i was really looking forward to play this game... But you managed to create a game so difficult that even the first level becomes a real hard task .. So hard that after xx retries i just gave up on the game ... the fun was gone; I got bored with the game after only 5 minutes because there was no room for a learning curve... You do realize that someone new to a game has not the same skills as someone who has been playtesting the game for months and months. A New player has to learn the game, allow for some errors to be made and gradually make the game more and more difficult... not demand a perfect play from the very beginning, people will not keep playing; certainly not with such cartoony games that "look" fun in the first place... the closest i got was like running behind the villain with 5 seconds left, never got enough time to actually catch him.. maybe if i put in more time .. maybe .. but i'm not willing to put in 15 minutes to half an hour for something that takes less than a minute.. EACH TIME... Make the beginning of the game a bit easier, give us a bit more time or so, so that the first few villains can be catched after a few tries
Would like to know what this game looks/plays like, but I can't even make it through the menus.
