Cat's Cosmic Atlas

Cat’s Cosmic Atlas is a super cozy infotainment game. You control a super fluffy cat and explore the star constellations of the northern and southerns hemisphere. You do this by jumping over rooftops and walking over clouds and getting an info button each time you get close to a constellation. Each constellation is presented with a beautiful animation and a matching sound of what it presents. It’s rounded up with a well presented info box about the stars and myths connected to it. There is also a whole different module where you fly through our solar system and explore each planet and its moons. I really love the art style and animations of the game. It’s gives of a super cozy and wholesome vibe, and the whole experience is rounded up by a charming music. The only two negative things I can say about Cat’s Cosmic Atlas is that there is no V-Sync and no Borderless fullscreen option.

This is not a game, it's a children's book come to life. If you enjoy learning about the stars, planets, and astrological signs, you will thoroughly enjoy Cat's Cosmic Atlas. The art style & coloring is gorgeous. The music soothing. The characters are adorable. Very short, so I would definitely recommend buying it on sale.

Although short, it's super cute, cosy, and perfect for playing out in one sitting. I learned a little about stars and constellations and napped here and there because why not? I even got to float around in space! Space cat—Hah! It was definitely worth the pick-up and playthrough. Simply put, sometimes, a short game that hugs you like a warm blanket is exactly what you need.

I don't think I'd classify this as a game. It's more of an interactive learning tool. Personally, I found the shop page to be deceiving in this factor - it looks a lot more involved than it is. It's got some cute, fun facts, but traversing can be a bit easy to miss things, and honestly more annoying than cute. I also cannot personally speak to the accuracy of the facts, but they seemed accurate to the bit that I do know :) It was very interesting! Just, not a game. The art style was very cute, and I enjoyed the art and animation of the stars. Honestly, there's not much else to say about this. Maybe cute for a kid or someone really into space, but honestly, felt kind of like a waste of time and money. I'd love to give this game a neutral rating, but due to the fact I don't really consider it a game, I'll have to mark not recommended :( But I do think certain people could enjoy this, and that it was well made!

The game is adorable, but I don't care about the stars. I play it because the achievements are very cute. hehe

So I don't have much time in this but I honestly don't need to in order to review it. First, know that this is NOT a game. There's no real game play here. What it is, is kinda a call back to the point and click educational games of the 90s and early 2000s. For those of a certain age. Think about sitting at the school library on a chunky computer and you are playing one of the Buzzy Field Trip games. Clicking on random animals you find to try and make them make a sound and see what you can learn about them. Now while games like Buzzy do have actual game play in the mini game areas and this game doesn't have anything like that. I'd say it's an apt comparison. In Cat's Cosmic Atlas you are a little cat learning about the skies. There are several sections in the game that and each teaches you something different. Go to the planetarium to float around in space from planet to planet. Learning quick and fairly simple facts about the planets and other areas of our solar system (like the sun and asteroids). You have the skies that you reach from jumping up on the chairs in your living room and onto the roofs of the buildings around your house. Walk around and jump on clouds and pillows in the sky to unlock different constellations and learn about them after watching them form in the sky. Don't worry though, there's no platforming. Instead you simply press a single button to cause the kitten to jump from spot to spot when climbing higher in the sky. There is also a dictionary that will teach you various terms used in learning about space. There is... a bit of confusion on my end on who the facts in this game are directed towards. Some facts are incredibly simple, and others are far more detailed. So I'm not sure what kind of person this game is directed towards in regards to learning. Perhaps they were aiming to make it interesting for all ages. But who is this game for? Well...... the first one that comes to mind is of course children. Again calling back to my Buzzy comparison. This is a fantastic game to get for your kid if they love space or have a passing interest in space. I absolutely loved those little educational point and clicks as a kid. I wouldn't say a very small child will like this game... there's some very big words... but I'd say 2nd-7th grade or so would offer information that a kid may not know or enjoy. Again there's no real game play here, so it may be boring for older kids. For younger kids though I can see them enjoying the fact that they can't fall or die in areas like the constellations where platforming would likely become very frustrating depending on your kid. This game is purely about cute cozy vibes and learning. And that leads me to the second group of people this game is for.... Adults who love to learn and like the cozy space vibes. I'm sick right now. Feel like absolute ass. I want to play something but I don't want to play anything that I have to truly focus on in order to feel accomplished. This game... is meeting that need. The game is absolutely beautiful with the graphics and designs of the planets and constellations. With the stunning Starry Night color palette. It's all very cute and magical and I love it. I've already taken several screen shots. One of my cute little kitten hugging the sun has a decent chance of becoming my computer background and dethroning my "if it fits it sits" picture of the pokemon Persian in a box. The music is also lovely and I'm a little sad there is no soundtrack for this game because I'd honestly love to listen to it to go to sleep. At some point I'm sure I'll have dozens of hours in this game just from leaving it open on my desk top to listen to while I do other things. But I am also an adult... that loves to learn. I also loved space as a kid. It's not something that captivates me the way it did as a child, but I'm still interested in it. And while there is no rewarding game play here. The atmosphere (pun intended) of this game coupled with reading interesting space facts is giving me that rewarding accomplished feeling I was looking for with very little effort. Though even if I wasn't sick I still think I'd enjoy this game because for a game I have never played and that was only released a year ago... it gives me the nostalgia for the games I grew up playing on my grandmas computer and at the local library. Which is a great feeling. So if you are going into this game expecting a bunch of game play... this game is not for you. If you are expecting puzzles... this is not the game for you. If you are expecting a beautiful cozy vibe learning game... this is a game you may enjoy. The only thing I will say is that if you are buying it for you, an adult, maybe wait for it to be on sale. If you are buying it for a kid, I'd say it's worth the price. Because unless you are woefully uneducated about space, as an adult you will probably already know a fair bit of what this game has to offer. So it's a little less worth the price. If it's for a kid though or you are an adult that didn't get to learn about space in school. This game may be right up your alley and an enjoyable time. I tried to find more games like them and I was really sad when I saw that there just aren't a lot of games out there for PC like this. "Cat's Cosmic Atlas" is a casual exploration game in which you play as a cat that gazes upon the stars and other celestial bodies. You get taken through the Southern and Northern skies and experience the most beautiful sights and learn a thing or two about the vast Universe that surrounds us. I liked the gamemechanics of the game. It was very simple. The Artstyle and music was very fitting, i really lovedit. It took me around 1.3 hours to finish it with all achievements. There are a few and there are easy to get, one i had to look up tho haha. I got the game for 1,17€ on sale which is pretty good, i would have bought it for the full price. The game is nice, try it out!

Aside from some typos, awkward grammar and a bit choppy animation, this very light game should appeal to anyone with a desire for cute and relaxing.
