Carrion Fields is one of the longest-running online RPGs in the world, a hardcore, text-based grandfather to games like World of Warcraft and Everquest. It's a cross between a tabletop roleplaying game and an MMORPG.
Enter Thera, a dark, fantasy land roiled by eternal wars among mortal factions and gods alike. No one is ever truly safe from monsters, fellow adventurers, or the inexorable ravages of time.
Make your mark on Thera using your wits, your weapons, diverse schools of magic, or by drawing power from the gods themselves. Write a story for your character and give them life in a vast world over 30 years in the making, filled to the brim with secrets and mysteries that you can uncover and use to your advantage.
Carrion Fields is completely free and run by a staff of dedicated volunteer "Immortals," who act as Game Masters and roleplay as the world's gods. Overhead is covered by dedicated players' donations.
