About
It is the near future of 2019, and you're trapped in a dome with 18,736 mad robots on the outskirts of a Las Vegas themed resort, and with only twenty minutes until a bomb wipes everything out. Race across a small open world, activate powerful buffs, and grow strong enough to survive the next danger, and maybe even escape (Ed. Escape is not possible at this point in time).
Discover Fountains to activate Buffs, Pylons to boost your character, and more
Race to locations to gain experience
Complete Time-Trials to increase the experience you earn
Utilise a variety of unique weapons to Wreck those Wrobots
Deal Damage to destroy their puny frames
Inflict Stun to weaken them, then ram into them to heal yourself
Utilise Buffs to empower yourself and shape your run
Unlock Achievements to unlock new Weapons, Buffs, and improve your car's stats
Discovered world features are added to your map permanently, letting you optimise your path through the world
If you haven't already, please consider checking out the Demo, it's a sizeable chunk of content, and will give you a very good idea if the game works for you.

Disclaimer: I know the creator and am in the credits for helping play test. I do think it's a solid game. Bullet heaven where you drive around killing robots inside what defiantly isn't called the thunder dome for legally distinct reasons. Once I got the hang of the mechanics I found the game play loop quite enjoyable. I recommend reading the achievement lists as you can use them to become more powerful for subsequent runs. I recommend saying "Dammit Sean!" or words to that effect whenever you run into a tree as I suspect your anger fuels him and may help further development.
First!!11!!!!111!!!
You know that dream you have where you're out for a drive and suddenly you lose control of the car and you're struggling with all your strength to make the car obey your commands so you can avoid a crash because you're suddenly surrounded by an army of amorphous robots shaped like random things you saw during the day, and after a few near misses you kind of enter this flow state where you're weaving around enemies while laser beams keep the hordes at bay but then it turns out you have to stop for fuel but then the gas station shatters into ethereal particles and you just have to keep driving? That normal dream we definitely all have? Careening distills that dream down to its essence. The game is in early access so I won't lie, it's rough around the edges, but combines a different twist on the vampire survivors format in a prettier environment with a strong motivation to explore, discover, and learn from your mistakes to do it better - whatever the heck it is you're meant to be doing here.
Fully sick drifts in my subi, bruv.
Chill enough to be able to play while zoning out, and chaotic enough to stimulate the neurons that generate fun in the brain meat. I did have a bit of a laugh at some of the enemies and weapons. But I do have to ask: why a Subaru Impreza WRX?
