Even in early access this game is amazing
Honestly a great game with incredible potential. I love the idea and the abilities in the game, I can't wait to see where you take it. Would highly recommend it if you wanna have some fun :D
LOVE this game. the combat is so fun because you can make your move kit to be as simplistic or calculated as you want. (also j'adore the music). it feels like fresh air to me, as its not like any game i've played before. i'm so excited to see where cardshark goes :)
game fun. worth the money
Another game that is sort of middle of the road, and has the potential to be much better. Although in theory this game is like a poor man's "Dicey Dungeons" (which is an easy 10/10 by the way), and a huge compliment as a direct comparison in any way. However, despite the similarities (rogue like progression, adorable characters, Slay the Spire/Dicey Dungeons-lite map movement) I can't at this time give it a thumbs up for one simple flaw that makes the game nearly unplayable... the AI is a cheatin' a$$ mofo. Let me explain. Firstly, I am not a chump in this genre of game. I've beaten Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons and others like it and know that they require a ton of patience, and trial & error. Normally you will find yourself doing run after 30+ minute runs, tweaking your abilities to get just an inch farther as you go. That's part of the fun because you really feel like you've outsmarted the game with cleverness and strategy. There is always the random element of luck, but if the game is designed correctly (that is key), then bad luck (bad dice rolls/card draws) won't keep you from finding a way forward. Sadly after many attempts to beat the 1st level boss (or much less even live long enough to get to him) I have decided that the AI is programmed very heavily to win. Heart suited cards give you health, but you'll magically not get heart cards for multiple draws (I counted once and it was 8 times before a heart card came up), by the time I got a heart to heal myself a measly 6HP it was too late because I was getting pummeled every turn. Now that might sound like bad strategy on my part... But let's do the math on that, since you get 3 cards per new turn, that means 24 cards came up after 8 turns without even ONE card with a heart suit on it. I can see that rarely happening from time to time sure, but it happens so often it can't be random. To double down on that thought... There are 13 heart suited cards in a standard deck of 52. That means that nearly half the entire deck of cards has been drawn and not 1 heart card has come up?? Come on man. On the other end, there are powerful attack and defense cards you can attach as an ability or swap out for combos. But do you think the circumstances will randomly swing in and out of your favor like they should in a randomly generated game? In a word, no. Paralization of the enemy works so few times that I actually thought the scripts to make that ability work weren't programmed in at first. Yet, just about every time MY CHARACTER was paralyzed, I couldn't play a card, etc. Or how about the ability that says, "randomly attack the enemy with a value from 1 to the value of the card" (meaning Ace thru 10 is 1-10 and Jack - King are 11-13). Guess how many times placing any card f***ing comes out as 1 damage? Enough times that if you were betting on it being 1, you'd go immediately to a casino because you'd be right 90% of the time. Sorry, but that's not random... and had me on more than one occasion fighting the temptation to throw my SteamDeck across the room. That's not fun... it's infuriating. It doesn't matter which of the 4 types of character you choose either. The AI will hand you your a$$. Nothing like getting pummeled repeatedly by a candle or an apple to make you pull your beard out but this game has it!
