About
Cards and Dungeons is a roguelike dungeon crawler that blends strategic card play with fast-paced action. Choose your hero, equip your deck, and descend through ever-changing dungeons filled with monsters, traps, and brutal bosses. Every run is a test of survival, strategy, and risk management.
Start your adventure with one of several heroes, each armed with a distinctive ability and playstyle. Unlock more characters as you progress, opening new ways to conquer the dungeon.
Each hero has a basic attack, but true power comes from the cards you assign. Equip up to three cards per run—ranging from devastating attacks to tactical abilities—and use mana to unleash them in battle. Beware: every card played pushes a hidden counter forward, and once it triggers, a random punishment will strike. Cards give you immediate strength, but carry long-term risks.
Procedurally generated floors offer fresh challenges every run. Encounter dangerous biomes, shifting layouts, cunning traps, and enemies that become deadlier the deeper you go. Survive long enough, and you’ll face powerful bosses guarding the path forward.
Collect gold to purchase upgrades, mana to power your abilities, and experience gems to level up your heroes. Between runs, expand your arsenal with new cards, improve your characters, and unlock permanent upgrades to push even deeper.
With multiple heroes, hundreds of card combinations, random events, punishing drawbacks, and procedurally generated dungeons, no two runs are ever the same. Test your strategies, refine your builds, and challenge higher difficulties as you master the game.
The dungeon awaits—will you conquer the final floor, or be lost to the depths?

The risk system in this game is something else. Most deckbuilders let you go nuts with your strongest cards, but here? Every time you play one, you're pushing your luck a little further. That hidden punishment counter keeps you honest. I've had runs where I dominated early, got greedy, and paid for it. Other runs where I played cautious and scraped by. That tension never goes away.
What I appreciate most is how different the heroes actually play. Not just different stats, but different feels. The rogue wants to dance around, set up traps, be clever about positioning. The warrior just gets in faces. Keeps things interesting when you hit a wall with one character, because switching feels like a whole different game.
Very fun and entertaining gameplay. Did a few runs and things get challenging! Very fun. :) (careful with the traps!)
The card design is straightforward but has surprising depth. No useless fluff, every card feels like it exists for a reason. Been experimenting with weird combinations just to see what happens. Found a few duds, found a few that absolutely carried runs I thought were doomed. Messing around with builds is half the fun.
Really dig how the game handles punishment. It's not cheap about it. When things go wrong, it's usually because I got cocky or mismanaged my resources. The counter system is fair—it gives you just enough rope. Makes victories feel earned, not handed out.
Big fan of how the mana and punishment systems interact. You're constantly weighing immediate power against future risk. Do I blow my load now to clear this room, or save for the boss and hope I survive? That choice happens every single floor. Keeps the brain engaged even during the "easier" early sections. Smart design.
I liked it! Took me a while to get some mechanics, but good overall :D
Replayable and fun, but spikes are very hard on me
