Car Mechanic Simulator 2015

This game is aesthetically pleasing in a way that's hard to describe. The Garage itself almost feels like a home with how modern looking and clean it looks. It makes you feel like you're actually running a super professional garage. Part of this is nostalgia too. A lot of games in the 2015 era had this sleek modern aesthetic to them in some shape or fashion. Game play wise, it gets very easy once you learn the basics and unlock all the tools that can speed up diagnosing issues with a car. However, what really make it fun is being able to flip cars for a profit and that's how you make big money. I would strongly recommend this game, except the 2021 version is out and while it loses that modern "clean" 2015 era aesthetic, it feels much more realistic, the graphics are updated, cars actually look dirty if they are old and rusty, etc. Plus, flipping cars becomes even more fun due to the increased variety. So recommending this game as it's a good gateway to the rest of them. I'd skip pass 2018. It's definitely more modern, but your garage makes you feel like you're working in a small shack/barn rather than an actual shop. Where 2021, you're literally the owner of your own shop and can upgrade/add buildings and such. You can upgrade in the 2018 version too, but it still feels like you're working in a random old barn behind an abandoned factory.

A good game overall for anyone that likes cars or have the passion of working in assembling or disassembling parts. Gameplay is simplified in many ways but show a decent complexity regarding the car models and how the components are assembled together. A few drawbacks are present and can become annoying. Some of the models (especially DLC) have parts that clip through each other, although this does not affect gameplay at all. Cars like Tempest Magnum AWD W12 however, had its oil cap hidden behind the body panel of the car (due to the forced merging of different engine type and car model). Easy to figure out after, but a bit of an oversight with some of the models. The annoying mechanics that can sometimes drive you crazy are the repair RNG system and the Auction system. The repair system when fully upgraded says a 90% chance of success, when in reality (and oh so often more than I can count), it is more accurately between 50-60% (at worst even worse than that), which multiple streaks of fail after fail after fail, even on the simplest of components. Sometimes, it can happen literally twice in a row, which is naturally by laws of probability is rather rare, but has occurred to me playing enough times to remember... Gets rather annoying especially if starting up the game and repairing keeps on giving you immediate fails right of the bat... It's 90% mind you.... The auction system is no different. In many cases the "bots" that keep on raising the price of cars feels unnatural, and is only making the price of the cars in question bloated in price for no good reason. They're not even rare at all, with all cars appearing in the auction list. It would have felt better if there was a human interaction or context for this, but without it literally feels like the game hates you and does not want to let you buy cars at different variety (you can figure out general price ranges of each car, but rarely or even never be able to get it at the lower end of the range...) Still a fun game if you like cars, but those 2 systems sucked.
