About
Capy Castaway is a cozy narrative exploration adventure where a capybara pup and a clever crow solve puzzles, help animal friends, and explore a mysterious island.
Play solo or together in a heartwarming story about friendship and home.
After a flood sweeps several zoo animals far from home, a young capybara pup named Capy washes ashore on the mysterious Castaway Island where all sorts of objects, trinkets, and even other animals have become lost to time and space.
Here, Capy meets Corvi, a clever and chatty crow who becomes their voice, guide, and self-appointed “cool older sibling.” Together, they explore the island, befriend its colourful Castaways, lend a helping paw and wing, and uncover the story hidden beneath the island’s quiet surface.
Through exploration, kindness, and a little (or a lot of) mischief, Capy and Corvi slowly discover that the meaning of “home” may be bigger than they imagined.
Inspired by real memories and places from Toronto, Capy Castaway’s world blends cozy nostalgia with playful wonder.
Meet Capy, a curious capybara pup with a nose for discovery, and Corvi, a mischievous young crow who always has something to say.
Capy can sniff, dig, and swim (and not to mention make sandcastles, eat snacks, and play music), while Corvi can fly, fetch items, and carry Capy to new, unreachable places!
Be playful, interact with everything and everyone, and approach each challenge in your own creative way. Your choices will shape the story, open new paths, and unlock multiple possible endings filled with emotions, surprises, and little moments of delight
Locals and fellow zoo Castaways can be found throughout your adventure, so you can also help out these lost animals or… don’t?
Give relationship advice, help friends find closure, search for lost items, or simply goof around. The way you play is up to you!
But be careful; your decisions matter, shaping both the story and the ending scenes based on how you interact with everyone on Castaway Island.
Play solo and control both characters, or share the journey with a friend in co-op mode! A special kind of camaraderie (and chaos) is unlocked when another player joins the journey with new ways to play and explore.
Capy Castaway is designed to be low-stress and welcoming for everyone, from longtime gamers to partners, families, or kids discovering adventure games for the very first time!
Meeting old and new friends alike, this heartwarming, narrative-driven adventure will transport players to a place that is both unknown and nostalgic as they explore a world inspired by memories of Toronto.

An adorable little game with incredibly charming presentation! It's tightly designed, with no wasted lines of dialog or space, creating a short but sweet experience. There are also a few choices that lead to different outcomes throughout the game. It should be great for replays, especially for younger kids. Also, as someone who's learning 3d modeling, there's a lot of really inspiring subtle choices made in the game's visuals, like the gradient in the outline shaders, the little bits of stray fur sprites on models creating a cute but coarse texture, and a lot of other small choices that create the the perfect visuals for a 3d picture book. I can't wait to devour that artbook!
This game is perfect in it's little imperfections. There is a hand crafted charm to the story of a plucky little Capybara and his unusual corvid friend who join forces after an apocalyptic storm washes them up on a mysterious group of islands inhabited by other survivors of the flood. Rather than communicating in a straightforward fashion, their differences are emphasized by the charming way each manages to convey their personality. The game celebrates the individuality of the characters and how obstacles can be overcome when working together. Here you learn the value of friendship, while guiding both an adorable capybara and his purple corvid friend thru an Alice in Wonderlandesque world, solving puzzles and learning life lessons along the way. In this game, Capy and Corvi can just sit together on one of the park benches that are found throughout the game and do nothing more than enjoy each others company, because they want to, and that's okay. There is no urgency to hurry thru this game, just relish the quirky flow and see where it goes, and you'll find that you're better for it.
Capy Castaway is a short but nice little adventure you can experience leisurely by yourself or with someone close to you. As adults, my girlfriend and I enjoyed exploring and doing quests on this castaway island! The game was not very difficult (a kid can find their way through the game very easily) and I do wish there were more puzzling aspects, (more things like the goose soup, or more opportunities to use the sniff and flight mechanic), but we found a lot of enjoyment in the very cute and stylized art style, and the dialogue and characters.(Even though it was a little dialogue heavy and slow to start- it got better as the game went along!) Speaking of characters, most of them were pretty delightful. I enjoyed Onyx and Benny particularly, they were very cute. Corvi however, was just kind of evil? In the grand scheme of the story, it makes sense that he acts the way he does, but he is a pretty drastic blemish on the cast of colorful and mostly reasonable fun little guys. There were a few bugs along the way,(some of which couldn't be fixed unless you closed and reopened the game) but I can't fault a honest indie team who has been putting in the work with patches to fix anything game breaking. This was just a fun charming little game to play, and I would recommend everyone at least give it a try :)
Это не игра, а симулятор чтения текста. С самого начала дают 100500 бессмысленных диалогов, даже не дав подвигать персонажем. И похоже вся игра состоит больше из текста, чем из геймплея. Скучно и неинтересно. Возвращаю деньги.
Little Capybara is swept away by a flood, separated from its parents and the other animals from the zoo, and deposited on a small island alongside the rest of the junk. Luckily, a crow is there to lend a hand, or rather, its beak. The crow does all of the talking because the capybara cannot speak and can only respond with head movements. You often get to choose between several responses, although these choices do not seem to matter that much. You control both characters at the same time, but if you have a friend next to you, they can take control of one of them. The capybara is a child, so there is not much it can do besides running around and stacking objects on top of its head. The objects are all sorts of junk found around the islands, and the resulting towers can become surprisingly impressive. There is even an achievement for stacking one hundred objects, and the capybara can still jump and run around without a single one falling off. The crow is essential for grabbing the capybara and carrying it over water or to higher places. It gets tired after a few seconds, but there is enough land around that stamina management never becomes an issue. Flying also allows the crow to grab items that are out of reach or retrieve objects that have fallen into the water. Since this is a children’s game, falling into deep water simply respawns you nearby, while shallow water is harmless. There are no enemies or genuinely dangerous situations. Later, you even learn how to swim, after which practically nothing can stop you. The island is divided into smaller, interconnected sections, each containing one character who need your help. Most of the area is open from the beginning, and completing these quests rewards you with a new accessory for one of your characters. A nice notebook keeps track of all the quests, but there are no waypoints or visual markers, so you have to figure things out yourself and keep your eyes open. Important items are usually easy to spot because they are unique. Even when you are not sure whether something is useful, you can simply stack it on the capybara’s head anyway, since you never know when it might come in handy. A lot of the objects are just junk, and you can test them by throwing them into a trash can. If the trash can sucks the item in, it is trash. If it stays on the ground and the trash can ignores it, it is probably something you will need later. One interesting feature is that you can respond to certain characters in several different ways, either by telling the truth or concealing it. This works particularly well because the game deals with some surprisingly harsh life situations. It often feels less like you are making decisions as the capybara and more like you are a parent deciding how to explain difficult truths to a child. The quest is completed either way, but the resulting conversations can be slightly different. These decisions are also reflected in the achievements, which are easily missed because the game automatically saves immediately afterward. There is only one save slot, so getting all of the achievements requires replaying the game from start to finish several times. This becomes an even bigger hassle because some achievements have multiple possible outcomes. Unfortunately, the same problem applies to some of the quests. While certain tasks can be solved quickly using things you already have nearby, others provide almost no clues at all. One quest, for example, requires you to run around the entire map looking for swans, while another asks you to find ingredients for soup. Most of the required items are somewhere nearby, but there was at least one ingredient that I had absolutely no idea where to find. Even with all that wandering around, the game is fairly short, and the amount of content does not really justify its high price. Similar indie games are usually around the $10 mark, while this one costs roughly twice as much. I think the price is also preventing the game from reaching a wider audience. The art is charming, the controls and gameplay work well, there are plenty of conversations, and you get to learn more about the characters as you progress. There is clearly a good game here, but it feels like quite an investment for something that is unlikely to stay with you for very long.
