This is wonderful and unique. I'm having a great time. :D
10/10 - One of the most unique games I have ever played! I have never expected to die while trying to kill at an octopus with a moustache while other boats with ghosts are throwing me cannonballs while I'm hopelessly sailing upwind with my sails down.
Good game! At first it was a bit tricky, but with a couple of games you get it. I think it's a funny game to spend your time and I love the variety of gadgets :)
Muy chulo. Recomendable. Cuando te haces con los controles, engancha, porque quieres mejorar con cada intento.
Great boat roguelite! I enjoy sailing and fighting and the dash with inv frames is truly wacky :) The controls feel great on K+M, controller felt clumsy in comparison. The items system reminded me Risk of Rain a little and it's nice to actually see the items and crew on your boat. I liked the premise but was reluctant to buy at full price but I'm happy with my purchase in the end :)
Very fun game and easy to get into. I also love how it looks! Definitely worth it
Super funny and very good looking game that easily hooks you right on the first tries. You get improving try by try and always want to get further (and so you do!). That's kind of addictive, I guess (always in the good way). I recommend it, for sure (suitable both for ships-lovers and no ships-lovers)
TLDR: great rogue-lite with medium to long runs, with a great variety of weapons, items and enemies, not buggy, and interesting mechanics. To start off, length run. This games focuses on medium length (harder) runs and longer runs. So, if you’re looking for a shorter run, you can go straight to the objective of the area, which means you’ll get less upgrades, but if you’re looking for something a bit longer and take your time, you can take advantage of additional objectives in every area, or farm enemies for a stronger build. There is no mid-run save system, though, so take that into account when you start a new run and you’re short on time. In regard to movement, it has a directional wind system that the player can take advantage of, so you go faster downwind with your sail down, and at normal speed with your sail up (if you’re going upwind, for example). Or you can ignore it, and sail with your sail up constantly, which means no bonus, but no malus either if you forget to raise the sail when going upwind. Every area has a boss, or two, in which case you face only one of them, chosen at random. They are certainly hard, and, personally, I found some easier than the alternative, so there are easier runs IMO. Once you defeat them, or fulfil an objective, you’ll be able to play as them. You also get a special type of key when they die, that allows you to open more powerful chests (more on that later). The game has a nice enemy variety, with simple archetypes that vary between areas, and some elite variants that can reward the player with some nice upgrades. Despite all of them being boats, aside from a few exceptions, they are easily recognizable by their shape and colour. In some cases you can even find subtypes of an enemy even in the same biome. Combat is on the simpler side (not in a bad way), but different enemies and cannons force you to vary your approach somewhat, so you won’t get bored quickly. Once you defeat an enemy, it’ll give you some key fragments (the currency of the game, also used to open chests you find) and maybe some health, or an item. The player can choose from a wide variety of cannons, the main categories being melee and ranged, with some outliers. Usually each weapon has a defining trait, its own type of projectile/melee weapon, drop and travel time in ranged weapons, and reload time. You can even parry with melee weapons (enemies will do this too), although you can also try to do this with ranged weapons, though it’s a little harder as you have to hit a projectile with your own. If you get hurt, and no matter what you do, enemies don’t seem to drop health, you’ll also be able to find health in “shops”, where you can exchange your basic resource, keys, for it (or items if you have enough health). Since health is not plentiful in stores, when you’re hurt, you’ll either have to approach combat carefully, to avoid losing more health, or aggressively, to recover the health you lost by defeating enemies. There is a nice variety of items, and a catalogue to check which ones you have and how to unlock the ones you don’t. The game gives you the items you unlock for free (the first time), and you can buy them in the “shop” later. They can also be found in chests scattered in each area that you can open with your keys, although, you can even open them without keys, in exchange for curses (debuffs). Items are divided into the already mentioned cannons, crewmembers that provide buffs, active items and passive ones. Passive items get unlimited space, but you can only carry one cannon, one active item (though you can get the ability to get one more) and a few crew members, depending on your build. Once you grab an item, you can manage it (visually) in the inventory. To finish, I’d like to mention that I couldn’t find any bugs after release.
Absolutely cracking. Boats. Water. Cannons. More Boats. Should definitely be getting more exposure.
