Elden: Path of the Forgotten

TL;DR - DON'T BUY THIS GAME Probably the worst game I've ever played. This isn't worth $1, let alone 15. I'm not a picky gamer, but the gameplay, story, and overall experience are so barebones it doesn't even feel like a complete game. There are 3 weapons, all with terrible range and lingering hitboxes. 3 spells, that use up your mana ridiculously fast. You walk incredibly slowly, "run" slightly faster, and roll with no i-frames. And that's all you ever get. You never get any stronger, or get any upgrades to your health or damage in any way. Areas are very open, to the point of frustration. You just want to know where to go, since exploring the world is completely pointless. Have fun figuring out where the next key is to open the gate or whatever is next. That's it for exploration. Look up a playthrough if you get stuck, that's what I had to do. There are probably 10 or fewer enemy types in the game, and they're all pointless to fight if you don't have to. Seriously, I ran past most things once I realized there was no incentive to fight anything that couldn't catch up to me. The boss fights, such as they are, are also basic. First one can only be fought with spear, lest you burn through every healing item you have, or wait half an hour so you can kill him with your first spell. Second boss just has a bunch of adds. Kill the big one to make the fight easier. 3rd boss is just a human enemy you can also cheese with a spear. Final boss is 2 of the first boss, but in a smaller arena. Both of mine got stuck in walls though. Then, essentially, the game ends. As for the story: what story? There's an opening animation that doesn't tell you anything, and nothing is even hinted at afterwards. When you beat the final boss, you walk forward a little bit then collapse. Screen turns black. Menu works but you can't see anything. In short: DON'T BUY THIS GAME. Play literally anything else. Don't reward this person for it. This is probably the only real review I've ever written for a game on Steam, all because of how bad this is. I hope I help someone to save their time and money.

Nice pixel graphics and animation here. Intriguing sprites and animation, and good mood. But the game seriously lacks depth. There's not a whole lot to do but dodge-roll, dodge-roll, slash slash slash, cast a ball, regen, dodge-roll, ad infinitum.

[h1] Довольно мутная пиксельная игра с кривой боёвкой и никаким сюжетом [/h1] Мотивация играть крайне сомнительная, хоть и есть некая атмосфера. Но убивать одинаковых врагов в одинаковых локациях очень сильно навевает мысли о бездарно потраченном времени. Ни интересных персонажей, ни интересной боёвки, ни графики, ни мотивации в это играть в игре не нашлось... Игра должна цеплять с первых минут, а не раскачиваться несколько часов. Может дальше и есть что-то интересное, но добираться через игровые проблемы нет желания. Гоняться за шустрыми врагами тоже мало желания. Есть кучи игр покрасивее с нормальным игровым процессом, которые разработчики делали с интересом. Но хотя бы есть русский перевод. Притом Loading не перевели... Видимо даже самим авторам игры собственное поделие не интересно. Но денег требуют за такое от души.

So, my experience with this game has been nothing but positive. The sound track is so calming and relaxing yet it has a very creepy vibe to it. I love how you can gather different weapons, and different spells and customize your play through to fit your fighting style. Its honestly one of my favorite games now and i highly recommend it. I can really tell Dylan put his heart into the game. It really does show and its a very fun game. I highly recommend this game, please give it a shot! Its absolutely amazing! I genuinely have nothing negative to say about it. C:

2/10 on the slow side

This game tries very very hard to be Hyper Light Drifter, but fails completely. Clunky combat, zero explanation as to how you actually control the game (sprint is pressing Lstick down, what?!), a completely failed attempt at environmental storytelling. The game also resets any items you picked up since your last save, but it does remove any health pads you used last time around. Fun. Actual trash, dunno how 16 euros can be justified for this.
