Dead game, left with lots of bugs
Absolute shame that this isn't being developed further. The core game play loop is fantastic and there are good mechanics to the game. However it is a buggy mess and without campaign online co-op I can't recommend it. Also the fact that the devs call it a 1.0 release is also a shame.
While I can say I do find the price of 11 dollars fair "worth" it, I will not recommend it to anyone in good faith. If you were to hold me at gunpoint and say if I liked it or not, I'd say yes, but on the other hand I CAN NOT recommend anyone else get it. This is one of those moments where a binary Y/N recommendation doesn't work. I get the feeling the devs just looked at it and said "its good enough" and gave up, took their money and cashed out. While YES its "playable", and YES I did enjoy it sometimes, and YES it feels technically "complete", it still feels like an unfinished product that needs more refining to smooth down plenty of rough edges. Their are many bugs in the game that while not cyberpunk level game breaking, still show a lack of effort or simply just bad programming where things don't act as they should (instead of acting weird just out of spontaneous anomalies in coding).
The game feels very unfinished and buggy. As well, I spend more time fighting (and being punished for fighting) than exploring or completing objectives. I tried using melee to avoid alerting every enemy on the map, but I either take way too much damage (even with blocking and rolling), or the enemy has a gun and alerts everyone anyways. By the time you realize how bad the game is, it is too late to get a refund. This game needs more work but I don't see that happening at all. Steer clear, everyone. On to base building, building any kind of base is a useless task. You start off with wooden walls that get destroyed very easily, because the developers decided to stupidly add in 'contact damage', meaning that the enemy doesn't need to attack an object to damage it, the enemy need merely breath in the general vicinity of an object to damage it. Wooden walls barely have health as it is. Everything of any value requires metal, and acquiring metal is very very difficult. But you can't stop to search or try to create metal, because you're actually on a very tight time frame, and every second counts to try and escape.
I really want to love this game, I really do. This game is really fun and I can see myself playing it for hours. ...when it actually works. There are so many issues with the game that just frustrates me. Mainly the constant freezing for no apparent reason. There are other smaller issues that don't seem to get addressed as well. There has been no updates from the developers for a long time, so I don't even know if it'll get fixed in the future.
I love the idea of the game, but the lack of frequent update and the high price tag; for what it actual is make it feel like a cash grab. I expected better.
i absolutely love most things about this game, HOWEVER there are run ruining bugs that make this unplayable.
No updates in over a year, dead game
it seems the devs stopped giving a s@#$ about this game a long time ago game runs about as well as you could expect.
I really wish I could write an honest, positive review. I've been in love with most of this publisher's games, but this one just felt really unpolished, like more of a demo than an actual game, be it an early access one. Back when I bought it I didn't want to refund it, because I was hoping, deep inside, that the game would be worked on, but seeing as the last update to the game was a year ago I'm losing hope, which is a real shame, because it had great potential.
