Candlelight

Don't play this game. Rather, don't play Candlelight if you expect a game meant for anyone above the age of 10. Overall it's a cute romp, but it's a fairly introductory platformer with no depth or skill. The graphics are cute and stylized, perfect for someone on the younger side of the gamer spectrum, but still fairly unpolished. The price of the game is fairly irrelevant. As an experienced gamer just the time spent being utterly bored by the game was bad enough, but if you want to pick it up for someone new to the platforming genre, what the devs ask would be perfect.

Candlelight really impressed me with its unique gameplay and graphics. Story was told through the gameplay which is a nice departure from most games. Even though it is a simple game to play the level difficulty ramped up near the end. Also the end was kinda sad but makes me want to see if the candle will return. 10/10

Um jogo meio indeciso... A primeira fase desse jogo é tão suave que parece ser pra criança com menos de 10 anos, no entanto na segunda a dificuldade sobe demais e na terceira mais ainda. A sensação é que é um jogo meio indeciso sobre o público que quer atingir. É bacana, tem um design bonito pra caramba apesar da simplicidade das texturas e modelos 3D, não é algo genérico. Pode ser um jogo divertido para os fãs de plataforma, não é tão minha praia, então não me apaixonei, mas dá pra ver o esforço da equipe em colocar coisas diferentes, como ter que correr para um abrigo quando chover ou ficar coletando cera pra não morrer (já que você é uma vela). Enfim, acho que fãs de plataforma podem adorar, mas precisam jogar mais que a primeira fase, pois ela pode ser tediosa de tão fácil. This Game is an outstanding game. The graphics are quite nice and the music is at a good volume. Its creative plot is well thought out and consistent. Candlelight is a really fun game with a cute candle as a main character. This indie platform title keeps you challenged but is not overly frustrating. The controls are picked up easily and aren't overly complicated. Some levels are very interesting and really stick out over the rest, such as the "Indiana Jones" and "Alice" inspired levels. 10/10 would play again.

Having Candlelight on the PS4 and loving it, the first game I got when I joined Steam was Candlelight. This game is very entertaining. If I had to describe it to something I've played before I would have to say a modern day Pitfall with a candle. The graphics are well put together. Some graphics are blocky like minecraft while other graphics are wispery like the clouds. The lighting is fantastic blend to the game. I can see great effort was put into the graphics unlike most dev games you see. The play is fun, I had a great time playing the game. I then turned it up a notch and played through going as fast as I could with out dying in the level/(next land). By doing this this made the game totally different an easy level became not so easy. I also could then understand how the developer created the level and how the level flowed which gave me even more respect for the game. The game has many lands and themes to the land. I really enjoyed the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme and Alice and Wonderland theme blew me away. I definately thought I got my money's worth, I payed full price on both platforms, ps4 and steam. I highly recommend this game, and if you do buy it then for each land go for the score that matters, 9900+ means you went balls fast and didn't die! get it!

A great little platformer that kind of slipped between the cracks when it was for released for most people. The good: Aesthetically, very winning, in a charming, N-64 era-ish kind of way. The controls are tight and I never felt frustrated. Very casual difficulty - in a good way. If you just want to finish each of the 15 levels, you're not likely to spend more than 15 minutes on each one. But if you're a completionist and want to find all the semi-hidden secrets, it'll take a bit longer. Music and sound effects are all decent. The meh: I finished the game in about 6 hours. That might be short for some people (though I had no problems). The few bosses present aren't really interesting, though this isn't really a game about bossfights. The maps for each level are a bit hard to read. The verdict: This is the perfect coffee-break platformer. I was rarely frustrated and it never wore out its welcome. I feel sad this didn't get more attention when it was first released.

Its a fairly standard platformer, but rather mediocre and uninteresting. You are a candle that slowly burns out every level. You collect wax to stay alive, but if you die you just restart at a checkpoint, so thankfully it's not too annoying. The levels are poorly laid out, and you have to collect a map to see the level outlay, although it just shows points and no routes, so it's easy to get lost or have trouble finding where you want to go. Also the ending part of the level is not laid out on the map. Every level is the same, there's some wind, dynamite, candles to light for extra areas, and 3 little roosm to go in to light the 3 candles. You then go to the end and that's it. There's 3 boox fights which are rather uninteresting. The platforming mechanics work, but there's just not much fun to be had. Its repetitive, with nothing new it brings to the table. The level design and map system are bad. It's not terrible, just uninspired. 6/10.
