Ive been waiting for this game for months from the switch. Super glad to have it on steam now since I got the steam deck and mainly want to play this game for really fast suika style gameplay. The power ups are a lot of fun and I really like how at any moment the game can go from calming cozy game to desperate survival frenzy. I especially like how you dont auto lose just because you go outside the ring, the countdown timer feels a lot more fair than instant loss like you see with other suika likes. One note on a technical issue I saw. If you play with a controller with steam input on there is a chance the game will just stop working with the controller. I found that turning off steam input for controllers fixes this issue but YMMV.
I'm actually kind of sad to see this game hasn't picked up a big traction yet. It's insanely adorable. I love the expressions the cat makes, the customization options (though I do wish there was more) I really wish the devs would make it multiplayer online (all my fweinds live so far awaaaay) because it'd be awesome to play along side them. But I love the game. Granted I love these type of merge games in general but this one is so adorable and cute, and the music is cozy/comforting to listen to. Honestly I bought this and all the dlcs and don't regret it.
My dauther absolutely loves it! This game is easy to start and super fun. You drop candies and match the same ones to make bigger ones. If it gets too full, you lose! Simple as is. Powerups are fun to use (KABOOM!), but they could be easier to collect... Coop and versus modes are great. Customization options have plenty of possibilities to choose from. I recomend especially for younger audience.
Candivity is a bright, accessible puzzle title developed by QubicGames in collaboration with Bolt Goblin and published by QubicGames that builds its entire experience around the simple pleasure of merging sweets into ever-larger confections. On the surface, it presents itself as a casual, candy-colored diversion, but beneath that cheerful exterior lies a surprisingly thoughtful blend of spatial awareness, forward planning, and risk management. The game’s strength comes from how it takes an instantly understandable mechanic and steadily layers tension and strategy on top without ever becoming overwhelming. The core gameplay loop revolves around dropping candies into a rounded, dome-shaped playfield and merging identical sweets to create larger ones. While this concept is familiar to anyone who has played merge-based puzzle games, Candivity’s curved arena subtly changes how players think about placement. Candies slide, stack, and collide in ways that feel slightly unpredictable, forcing players to consider not just what they merge, but where those merges will occur. A single poorly placed sweet can destabilize the entire structure, while a carefully planned chain reaction can clear space and dramatically increase your score. As sessions progress, the pace naturally ramps up. Early moments feel relaxed and forgiving, allowing players to experiment freely, but over time the dome fills faster, mistakes become more costly, and the margin for error shrinks. This gradual escalation creates a steady sense of pressure that keeps the experience engaging without feeling unfair. The challenge rarely comes from complex rules; instead, it emerges from managing limited space, anticipating how pieces will fall, and deciding when to take risks versus when to play conservatively. Variety is introduced through different stages and modifiers that alter how the familiar mechanics behave. Some maps change the flow of candies or introduce elements that disrupt straightforward stacking, requiring players to adapt their strategies on the fly. Power-ups and special effects offer temporary relief or creative solutions when the dome becomes dangerously crowded, but they are limited enough that they feel like tactical tools rather than crutches. These additions help keep repeated sessions fresh, encouraging players to refine their approach rather than rely on rote habits. One of Candivity’s most appealing aspects is its flexibility in how it can be enjoyed. Solo play offers a calm yet engaging loop that works well for short sessions or extended score-chasing runs. At the same time, local cooperative play introduces an entirely different dynamic, as two players must share the same space and coordinate placements in real time. Cooperation can quickly turn into chaos if communication breaks down, making co-op both entertaining and challenging in a way that feels distinctly social. Online leaderboards further extend replayability by giving competitive players a reason to return and optimize their strategies. The presentation leans fully into its candy-themed identity. Visuals are colorful, playful, and clean, ensuring that even crowded boards remain easy to read. Candy designs are charming without becoming distracting, and the dome environments provide a clear sense of space and depth. Sound design complements the visuals well, with soft pops, chimes, and cheerful effects that reinforce successful merges and combos. The overall audiovisual package reinforces the game’s lighthearted tone while still supporting focused play. Accessibility is clearly a priority. Controls are simple and responsive, making the game easy to pick up regardless of input method. The learning curve is gentle, and the rules are intuitive enough that players of almost any experience level can understand what’s happening within minutes. Optional cosmetic customization and achievement tracking add small but satisfying layers of personalization and long-term goals, especially for players who enjoy completion or self-imposed challenges. That said, Candivity’s reliance on a single core mechanic does place limits on its long-term depth. While stage variations and cooperative play add meaningful variety, players who crave handcrafted puzzles or narrative progression may find the experience somewhat repetitive over extended periods. The game’s enjoyment ultimately hinges on how much satisfaction you derive from refining a familiar system rather than discovering entirely new mechanics. Taken as a whole, Candivity succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be. It doesn’t attempt to disguise itself as a deep strategy epic or an elaborate puzzle campaign. Instead, it delivers a polished, cheerful merge-based experience that rewards spatial thinking, patience, and clever positioning. For players looking for a relaxed yet engaging puzzle game—one that works just as well as a solo time-filler as it does a shared couch experience—Candivity offers a sweet, well-crafted blend of simplicity and strategy that makes it easy to return to again and again.
