Amazing game only thing that bugs me is that you cant play games
great game !
I love CBB and I have been looking for a good CBB dynasty for a while after Campus Dynasty had stopped receiving updates. I was scrolling one day on GMGames.com and saw this game that had looked so good that I had to buy it and try it out. I am really happy with that decision because the game totally rocks and I have been locked in the game ever since I purchased it.
What is here is really cool. I like the recruiting, training, and strategy present, but it can be expanded on in more areas. I think adding in Secondary Positions would be really helpful for managing injuries pre-emptively (especially when you have to take into consideration playing time for your players) so you don't have to swap positions to optimize your roster, especially when one position's injuries stack up. Playbooks and offensive priorities for players. I found it's better for my teams to set my offensive plan to interior focused (basically a 50 on the 50-99 scale for interior/exterior), but I will have players who can do-it-all or are 3&D players. Giving a focus to my team for interior while also setting specific focuses for players who are best at shooting 3s would give my team offensive variety and maximize the strengths of my players. In-game strategy and adjustments based on what is happening in the game, I've found the only real way to change how my team performs on defense is to focus defense on training and watch the stat changes. But being able to watch how a game is going, and where both teams are performing well and being able to make adjustments as the game goes on would be a welcome change.
It's fine to pass the time, but I'm not sure how this has such positive reviews. There is no play structure, you just decide a "formation" such as 2 guards, 2 forwards and a center, or you could have 3 guards and 2 forwards, or 2 guards and 3 forwards. That's it. Yes, a few sliders that say how favored you want to be towards offensive play. Very basic. Training is basic as well, nothing to it. Playing games is just watching the simulation with no input by you as to effect the game. Recruiting, the heart of college sports. This game might have the worst recruiting out of any college sport game out there. It's done after the season, 5 weeks, you put point on a player and, well, that's it. No calling, no campus visit, no trying to sway a kid. It's just put point on him and "make a offer" which is a scholarship. That's all you do and it's terrible.
I'm huge fan of the NCAA College Football games specifically "NCAA Football 13" and the newest game "EA Sports College Football 26" as well as the old "NCAA College Basketball Games". That being said I was looking for a basketball game that was similar to those games, where I could seek my teeth into the game and really have fun building a college basketball dynasty. However, I stumbled across "Campus Legends College Basketball" and have been enjoying the game for what the game is. First and foremost, This game is not on the level of the old NCAA games and that is clearly shown the more that you invest your time within the game. Although, the game is from an indie developer and is still fun despite the game not being as deep as you would expect from the old NCAA games. Once again it's an indie developer so I expected that coming in but will still like to see some stuff added in the game such as trophies and a trophy room. Let me start by saying that the game is great if your looking for a collage basketball dynasty simulator. However if your expecting this to be on the same quality of the old NCAA college basketball games, then you will surely be depressed. This game is still fun but it's not NCAA College basketball. Although I would still recommend this game as there is a lot of fun to be had within this game and the game is worth the price of $5 or even less if you get it on a steam sale! Overall I give the game a 7/10! There is a lot of fun to be had within this game, but don't go in expecting this game to be a spiritual successor to NCAA College Basketball because it's not. The game is a great college basketball simulator and the game also has a lot of potential to get better but you should at least have an expectation of what kind of game this is before you dive into it. Like I said earlier, I was expecting to find an indie game on same quality of depth as the old NCAA games and while I did not find that with this game, I still found a great college basketball dynasty simulator that is worth your time and your money as long as your willing to give it a chance!
Pretty simplistic right now but highly functional. Recruiting is super straight forward, I think the offers page is fair, and you can have as much control or as much sim as you could want. I think moving forward there could be UI changes, expanded ratings/customization for coaches and players, more modes adding gameplay outside Head Coaching (AD/School, AC/GA- Road to HC), but overall for a beta, this game is scratching my college basketball manager itch. Very excited to see the big updates as this game grows with time. I also think this is an independent dev, so amazing with everything in mind.
It's a college coaching and recruiting game. You cannot have any impact on the game. You cannot sub players for example. And after 15 games, I still did not have access to any recruiting, therefore I can only assume recruiting only happens off-season? There are better games than this for college basketball.
