Reviews
You arrive on a tropical Pacific island with the aim of discovering the fate of the expedition that came before. This is a game set in Lovecraft's mythos, but is light on horror elements - there's the odd creepy bit, but it's not a game setting out to make you feel dread. It's far more interested in exploring the ancient civilization themes of some of Lovecraft's tales than eldritch terror. Beyond a single choice at the end, it is also a narrative on rails - not a bad thing, as it helps get into the shoes of the character you play, and the story and character building is strong enough for that final decision to feel impactful. Gameplay consists of exploring the six main areas of the (beautifully rendered) island and reading notes, with puzzles gating progression between the different sections of each area. A journal that updates when you find relevant clues really helps with cracking the puzzles, although even without that, it's usually obvious what clues relate to which puzzle.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amazing Story! Puzzles were fun to figure out.
This game is honestly such a vibe. It takes that whole creepy cosmic horror concept but completely flips it, trading typical horror tropes for this gorgeous, super-vibrant 1930s tropical island setting. You play as a woman trying to find her missing husband, and the story actually gets pretty emotional, mostly because the voice acting is top-tier. The puzzles are very classic, scratch-your-brain style where you actually have to look at clues and check your in-game journal to piece things together, which feels super rewarding when it clicks. My only real complaint is that the character walks painfully slow—like, even her "run" is a casual stroll—so backtracking for a missed clue can be annoying. But if you want a zero-combat, atmosphere-heavy game you can knock out in a weekend, it's 100% worth checking out.
Call of the Sea is a beautiful and unforgettable adventure. 🩷 The story kept me engaged from beginning to end, the environments are absolutely stunning, and every location feels unique. Exploring the island was just as enjoyable as solving its mysteries. The puzzles are clever and satisfying without feeling unfair, making every solution rewarding. If you enjoy story-driven games with breathtaking scenery, a relaxing atmosphere, and well-designed puzzles, this game is absolutely worth your time.
Really nice little game. Good incentive to doscover more about the expedition and the strange island. Lots of small imperfections but an overall delightful experience.
A fun and light puzzler that takes cues from pulp adventure and Cthulhu horror. Unfortunately let down by a lacklustre plot and a uneven tone. Call of the Sea is another in a long linage of 'walking simulators' (although more in the vein of The Witness than Dear Ester). You play as Norah, a former Art teacher who has fallen victim to a mysterious illness, who is now on the hunt for her missing husband Harry. He has gone missing in the pacific, looking for a cure for her illness (because it's the 1930's so of course he wandered off to some tropical local instead doing something useful). As Norah you wander around a mysterious island, solving puzzles and piecing together what happened to Harry's expedition. The puzzles are of a generally high quality. They mostly strike a solid balance between making you really think but not being so hard as to keep the player stuck in one place for to long. The in game journal does a good job of not only keeping track of relevant information, but also subtle prompting the player towards solutions, without overtly giving away the answers. I only found myself stumped a handful of times, and they were mostly because I had missed something obvious. While the puzzles are of a generally high quality, the plot is allot more cookie-cutter. I found it hard to get invested in Norah's story. Her point of view is unremarkable and she offers little interesting insight into the world around her other than vague surprise. While there is a nice little twist at the end, ultimately I found my eyes starting to glaze over slightly in the later hours. Call of the Sea is ultimately unremarkable. A enjoyable enough game that fans of head scratchers will find worth while, that fails to evolve the genre in any notable ways.
Story, puzzles, and art were all rich and very engaging. Cannot wait to play through again and send Norah down another path
