As the beginning of the tutorial of this game, this game has caught my attention really that it intended for me to play this even more. I am to be glad that I have bought the 2 game bundle from the summit bundle that both of them are as worth it as intended. It caught me to my surprise that both of these mountain climbing games are as adventuring as any other story game has to offer, I'm willingly would like to play this game even more if only I had most of the time available. But until then, I'd recommend everyone to try this game, whether you buy the summit bundle, or you buy the premium/normal version of this game. a worth it discounted offer indeed

Absolutely incredible experience. The game could be better optimized though and I hope they fix the small issues/bugs regarding the climbing system.

If you are thinking about getting this game just do it, insane soundtrack, interesting story, cool lore, amazing visuals and a really good gameplay, if you love climbing this is the game for you. Only downsides is that it isnt as optimized is I would like(runs good on the walls but its drops the fps really hard when walking around). I am making this review after doing a no deaths free solo run, its really fun but dont try it your first time, go alpinist and if you want more of a challenge do like I did and do a hardcore alpinist(just reset the save on death) the game gets 10 times more tense and when you manage to get to the summit you gonna giz your pants hehe

I highly recommend this game to anyone who got hooked on Death Stranding or Pacific Drive, and probably a few other titles like them. When a well-crafted world + deep, polished mechanics to interact with it = an amazing gameplay experience. Everything feels completely intuitive, even if you’ve never climbed a day in your life. The difficulty is fair (definitely not a Souls-like). 9.3/10.

Incredible story game, and the music is amazing. It adds so much to the story. When you're halfway up the peril wall during sunset and the sound track kicks on, it hits hard. Some mechanics can be a bit finicky (hello, auto limb selection) but otherwise it's a solid hidden gem of a game. I can't recommend it enough.

Incredibly zen. The exploration is really rewarding and the climbing is just challenging enough to keep it interesting. Fantastic game.

Actually having climbing experience weirdly makes this game very frustrating at times. About 75% of the time its incredibly fun with the best climbing mechanics put in a game yet. However the automatic limb system, doesn't work very well and when climbing hands will sometimes lose almost all of their grips - seemingly in cracks a lot requiring you to reinsert them with manual limb selection in the second before you tumble to the ground. The game should do a better job of having the character automatically adjust in moments like these, finding the 1cm part to hold on the wall with an art style that often makes these small holds very hard to see and gauge a total pain. Furthermore rest positions are totally bonkers at times, as others have said its not surprising that seemingly trivial grade v2 rest positions just don't work but you can rest doing a full splits with hands above your head in directions that don't generate good pulling force. Chimney climbing for example is pretty relaxing at times in real life, but in Cairn its incredibly annoying to start shaking with a simple isometric hold. Story, art style and the environmental storytelling is all gorgeous albeit nothing hugely magical to elevate it to that top tier of indie games. The climbing is a diamond in the rough, but weirdly I think if you climb IRL you'll push the game to its limits more often than the average reviewer and thus have a worse time with it. The last section of the game's hardest ending really suffers from pushing the climbing system to it's limits while also providing a gauntlet that you can get sunk into 3 hours for before realizing you haven't enough supplies to finish and having to load a 3 hour old save to retry (or turn on the assist mode). This really hurt the emotional weight I should have normally felt. It's despite these frustrations, definitely worth it and is the closest a game has come to the real life feeling of pulling on a rock hold, and donning an ice axe. In all the exhilaration, frustration and grit that it entails.

10/10 Game I enjoyed every minute of playing, finding all the stuff hidden away, and all the things I need to find on my next runthrough. Finished the normal gameplay so I will try and go back and free-climb the entire mountain on 1 life. Would recommed.

Gioco assolutamente spettacolare per grafica, atmosfera, ambientazioni e fortissime emozioni dalla fiaba alla magia, dalla tensione alla gioia. Davvero molto preciso per quanto riguarda la simulazione dell'atto di arrampicare, all'inizio non subito immediato ma poi viene molto naturale. A gioco finito si può trovare una bellissima sorpresa che se si vuole si può acquistare, grande attenzione ai dettagli. Super consigliato
