Cafe DReAMLAND is a cute, wholesome spin on Lovecraftian horror. It deals with subjects of mental health, bullying, and of course the weird mind-bending writing of Cthulu mythos lore. (so be warned!) Normally, when I find a game that has elements of Lovecraftian horror, it's either leaning far into the horror aspect, or far into the satire aspect. This game finds a beautiful middle ground, and rather than satirizing, Cafe DReAMLAND takes a very Power of Friendship™ approach instead. The gameplay itself is very simplistic. You mix three ingredients to make a drink to serve to "eldritch" customers. You listen to their woes and serve a magical drink that suits their needs after listening to them vent. Most of the game is purely reading, which isn't everyone's cup of tea (no pun intended) but the writing is clever and silly and lighthearted enough that I have no complaints. It's super cute and kept me very entertained all throughout the entire game. The characters are all very loveable and I never felt like I wanted to skip through the dialogue. The game also throws you for a loop, making you feel comfortable within the simplicity of being a barista, but there is (quite literally) something deeper brewing. The main character Yatume's lore is both tragic, beautiful, and wonderfully written. The game also has a tasteful amount of comic relief when the story gets heavier in the second half. This game is an underrated gem. The artstyle is lovely, the atmosphere is nice, though I do think the UI could use some improvements since I didn't notice there were more ingredients to scroll through during my first half hour of gameplay, but that could be a skill issue on my part. All in all, Cafe DReAMLAND is a great game that offers multiple endings, lots of fun adventure and very pretty art. I give it a 9/10 solely because it's exactly what I love in RPG adventure games. This game has those vibes of the classic RPG maker games I loved in the 2010's. You should definitely play it if that's your style!

Love the game so much! It's a very cute and enjoyable game! The character design is very cute and I really like the colors used in the design. It's very pleasing to the eyes. The characters have their own unique personality and following their story is an interesting experience. The main itself is not too long, but not too short either. The BGM is also suitable and adds nice atmosphere to the game. Do I recommend it? YES. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? BUY IT NOW!! Or maybe try the demo first.

Absolute gem, that is all. Quite the best 6 hours in quite a while
