You IDLE as a Cactus. 2 Modes: Normal and Realistic. Normal has you in a desert and realistic is a black screen. Now to stuff that is driving me nuts. No settings and even the setting for windowed/fullscreen doesn't function. The game is on Ultra High graphics and eat your GPU. To remedy this a bit one has to edit a config file: AppData\Local\CactusSimulator2\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini but even then it might still eats ~30% GPU or ~10% CPU. Then the score for idling seems funky and not accurate at times. At least there is only a 100 hour achievement, so its done in 5 days.
10/10 truly a perfect sequel to an almost perfect game. Cactus simulator 2 gives you eighter a perfect cactus simulation in realistic mode or an easier experience in arcade mode.
I like the part where you're a cactus
Cactus Simulator 2 is not for everyone. If you're looking for fast-paced action, intricate combat, or complex narratives, this isn’t the game for you. But if you’re in the mood for a peaceful, zen-like experience where the joy comes from simply existing in a beautiful, ever-changing world, then it might be the perfect fit. The game’s strange premise is actually its strength—it’s a meditative journey that encourages players to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature, even in its most desolate form. The depth of the survival mechanics and the stunning visuals make it a surprisingly fulfilling experience for those with patience. Pros: - Beautiful desert world with rich environmental details - Deep survival and growth mechanics - Calming and meditative experience - Stunning day-night cycle and realistic sound design Cons: - Slow pacing may feel uneventful to some - Lack of traditional gameplay objectives can be frustrating - High difficulty in the later stages may turn off casual players Rating: 8/10 Cactus Simulator 2 is a unique, tranquil experience that rewards players for simply existing in the world it’s created. If you can embrace its slow pace and subtle challenges, it’s a cactus-filled journey you won’t soon forget.
GOTY
Is it very un-optimized or is it mining for bitcoin? I have it on realistic mode, so its a black screen with a score counter. I also use the NVIDIA control panel to turn everything I could to off, low, power saving, etc. Before doing this, it was using 60% of my gpu and a very high amount of power (according to task manager). After doing these things, nothing changed. I even tried setting the priority to low, and after restarting the game it was automatically set back to normal. I reset it because setting it to low didn't make a change. I find this game and the concept hilarious, but looking at task manager it seems very fishy.
It is EXACTLY what it is https://youtu.be/CwlkRFwmigM
