You play as Joy, a lost controller trying to find their buttons back after you've been smashed to pieces. You will have to cross a cyberpunk style city, and a fantasy filled forest using the simple buttons you can find, and some of the more advanced ones. Good luck, and watch out for dragons.

A great game made by some great folks! GOTY, 11/10!
Needs some work, but a cool concept!
"ButtonMash" is a simple but really mediocre 2D retro platformer with somewhat janky controls and hitboxing, and a rather average "meta" theme about being a game controller. Which is funny because this is on PC so most gamers are using keyboard and mouse. Did they not know that before they designed the game? A bit of research goes a long way. Anyway, there's a swinging mechanism and wall jumping and some other more modern platformer stuff but the overall quality is very very low, which undoubtedly lead to the dead silent public reception. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, that's nothing.
eh, not really my style. nice development but not for me.
Before I played ButtonMash, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
